Tejas MK-2 will fly in 2015

Com'on ppl its not Ind vs China.

2015 is very optimistic, even it fly in 2015 Foc and Serial production will start within 2,3 years so Lca-mk2 will be ready for induction in IAF somewhere in 2018/19. :partay:

If they deliver 40 Teejas to IAF by 2015 it will be big achievement. :p
There is very less chance that they will induct 40 MK2 before 2020-22.
Also western avionics and other aspects.
1990s was best time to induct these fighters.

sorry, i only attack some big mouth indian members, most indian members are good

1st OF all My dear Keep JF 17 out of it CZ (tejas) it was started in 1980`s and JF 17 was started in 1999 and in 2002 we alrdy had prototype which was flying and now we have jf blk 1 and 2 and lol got more then 50 aircraft's ready to fight anywhere any time baby

post number 35 is worth of reading, ignore the sarcasm there.

IAF wants 900-1100 kgs engine, measuring only 135 inches in length and 35.7 inches in width having 120+kN thrust equivalent to F-16 engine, capable of adapting every landscape in India and costing less.

It is not an easy Job to built such engine. even the GE-F404 produces less thrust than Kaveri, and they will be installed on Tejas.

There is very less chance that they will induct 40 MK2 before 2020-22.

they will be upgraded too.

so what west copied china first (e.g. gun power, gun, cannon...more) , we copy back. ws15 is coming out next year , what about india. india failed finally.

by the way, ws10b is much powerful than ws10a, how about big mouth india

Really ??? It was you who start derail the thread. Others were just replying to you.
Didn't intend to continue it. So let's stop it here.
Thank you

Mark 1 will be inducted before 2014 anyways ( congress wants the tap on its back )
Mark 2 will be inducted in 2016 ( let's add 2 years for late reputation ) so in 2018
Mark 2 will be 32 in numbers (16*2) by 2020 minimum.
Looking at the back reputation of materialising Mark 2s from Mark 1 it will be faster.

I personally think Mark 2 will be inducted as per schedule in late 2016. So IAF will have minimum 50 LCA mark 2 by 2020.

LCA Tejas Mk2 is being developed for use by the IAF and the IN. It will be powered by the more powerful GE-F414-INS6 engine and feature other upgrades.

Airframe Modifications

Minor modifications are being made to the LCA Tejas Mk1 airframe to accommodate the slightly larger engine. The fuselage has been extended by 500mm.

The dimensions of Mk2 will be as follows

Span : 8.20m
Length: 13.70m
Height: 4.52m

Upgrades

Besides a more powerful engine, Tejas Mk-2 will feature other improvements. Here is the complete list of planned upgrades

Higher Thrust Engine
Structural Weight Reduction
Aerodynamic Improvements
Upgrade of Flight Control Computer
Electronic Warfare Suite

Avionics Upgrade
In flight refuelling retractable probe
On board oxygen generation system
Increased fuel capacity.
Features

Supersonic at all altitudes
15km service altitude
Tailless compound delta wing
Composite structure
Improved performance
Improved maintainability
Improved Survivability
Digital Fly by wire
Fuel dump system
Multi mode radar

Question :

Will it be the same radar as in MK1, if not which one?
What is the planned range?

Wastage, When they have already signed many deals on aircrafts which lot better then tejas and they already have many other options. Tejas MK-2 is kind like a wasteful effort. Pakistan have reasons behind sticking with jf-17 .but india have many other better options then that.

When instead of ordering 128 F-22 in 2028, India inducts AMCA-MK2 it will not be a waste after all. Nothing can beat the experience you get by doing it yourself.

I found this..
US-based OEM Raytheon intends to offer its RACR AESA-based MMR along with a chin-mounted IRST sensor, while THALES Avionics is likely to propose a scaled-down variant of its RBE-2 AESA-based MMR integrated with the nose-mounted Optronique Secteur Frontal (OSF) IRST, which comprises two optical modules. The right-side module has a long-wave (8-12 micron) infra-red sensor used for target search and track out to 90km in ideal conditions. The left-side module carries a CCD TV camera for daytime target identification. The system also includes a laser rangefinder for use against airborne targets. The OSF is primarily an air-to-air search, track, identification, and localisation sensor, with a limited air-to-ground localisation and identification function as of now. A future enhancement of the OSF will include a night target-identification function (for precision air-to-ground strikes and anti-ship operations) based on a mid-wave IR sensor that would replace the CCD TV camera. The ELTA Systems subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is expected to proposed its EL/M-2052 AESA-based MMR integrated with an in-house nose-mounted IRST sensor, while Selex Galileo of Italy will most likely propose its Vixen 1000ES AESA-based MMR integrated with its 55kg Skyward nose-mounted IRST. Choice of the optimum combination of air combat missiles (both within-visual-range and beyond-visual-range) will be totally dependent on which fire-control system is finally selected, with the principal contenders being Raytheon (AIM-9X/AIM-120C AMRAAM), RAFAEL of Israel (Python-5/Derby), MBDA (MICA family) and Russia’s Vympel JSC (RVV-MD/RVV-SD combination), which IAI/ELTA Systems will likely propose in case the Python-5/Derby solution is rejected by the IAF.

U.S always limits its actual specifications for his non-NATO friends. but still F-22 was a better option. AMCA-MK2 will be definitly better then JF-blk 2 in several terms but keep in mind that we've already announced JF-17 blk 3 will be introduced in 2015. but still Pakistan has a reason while india can save her time and money cuz they have already wasted to much in LCA programme in past as compare to Pakistan.

Your statement shows that, how knowledgeable you are… As you says wasted this is called R&D, which you will never understand, coz your country never made a simple motor till date…your world is only MADE IN CHINA…

We like to waste our money...any problem!

At this stage any DRDO elephant talking about AMCA or other fancy stuff should be slapped hard on his peewee . BC MC LCA ban nahi raha hai .. baat AMCA ki karte hain.
