Tejas induction only by mid-2014

I don't think India should at this time induct this plane. The time for inducting this plane is over. What India had learned is the difficulties of create a complex jet fighter project. The engineers can take the experience and work on the next generation of planes. But as India already has mrca project and MKI, there is no need for a plane that is more costly and has less capability. As mentioned, if this plane is ready in 1995, it would be a great plane. But today, the time has passed.

Tejas a white elephant? Sure! It's gonna trample everything in its way in enemy territory. Its tusks will gorge out the innards of all armed two legged creatures across borders!

Time for someone to be fired over this. The bloody aircraft will be near obsolete by the time it is inducted. InAF will only induct this cause it is being shoved down their throat :(

This shows that India is only a toddler in the aviation industry.

can we really compare our LCA foc piece to the mass produced J10/x and Jf17s ? plz answer objectively and not fanboy style !! And plz compare only the capabilities rather its history !!

J-10 was inducted decade ago and now J-10B has the indigenous engine and AESA.

Do you really think an aircraft with full of foreign made parts including the engine and the avionics can be compared to J-10?

its use is limited to construct an ac successfuly and IAF is not going to depend on them at all and their induction.
so doesnt matter if they come in 2014 or 3014

If IAF is not going to depend on that at all, why build them. This should be a lesson learned and the engineers should move on to another project. Allow the imports to fill in the needs that will be required from LCA. Why create an assembly line when only a limited number of planes will be build? Either build hundreds or not build any at all.

The comparison should not be with the Chinese planes. The comparison should be with other planes that India can procure. There should be price/functionality comparison of Tejas with MRCA and MKI.

No offence to LCA fans, but its a big failure and IAF now openly expressing their dissatisfaction and i think there is no need of optimism for a fighter jet which even failed to pass IOC-2.

we never think about failures....bcoz our failures lead us to where we r today......

no offence to JFT FANS..........although tejas is stealth some how..........perfect induction time for 5+ starts from 2015

India today has order placed worth billions on Akash SAMs. DRDO tried working on SAMs from early 90s and it has taken them two decades. But the results are there for all to see.

We all know that "Failure is the stepping stone to success."

India should pursue LCA as long as we are not having a fighter as capable as Gripen and this is the base line.

Big LOL to HAL.. More than 3 decades and still IAF is not willing to take this $hit.. It's really humiliating for us, but for HAL it's their routine business..

about LCA tejas its not a successful project ....... it took much longer time and lot of money is wasted and lets see what will come out in 2014
