Targeting US mly aid to Pakistan — a possible ‘memogate’ for PTI

Bas kardo bhai. When it suits you then america is your daddy. Full circle hypocrite.

It's PTI now whoring and begging the Americans to come back into power. These dimwits are even willing to compromise defence security by lobbying to stop essential military equipment. Traitors of the highest order. Treasonous snakes.

Lol army rats will now talk about hypocrisy and traitors!

. . .
I find this whole situation super funny, people crying about ohh the military, the institution, the state secrets.
People the biggest who** in Pakistan's history has always been the military.
These usefull idiots will continue to sell out no matter what you think or say

Its just Phooj and its scums cant handle that PTI instead accepting loss still fighting specially on all international forums where they usually go to beg more but what they fail to understand its same few million overseas Pakistani fighting for the freedom of 200 Million slaves.
Majority in Pakistan have already gave up and accepted slavery.

America consists of many centers of power with different opinions. If Pakistani-Americans lobby for democracy in Pakistan there will be many who will be willing to listen. It will make it hard for those Western politicians who support criminal generals and politicians.

Pakistanis should create such an uproar that all criminal generals and politicians and their families should be banned from visiting or immigrating to America, Canada, UK or any Western country. Those already there should have lawsuits filed against them for crimes they’ve committed and have their property investigated for being illegally acquired.

There should be no sanctuary in civilized countries for criminals, murderers, torturers and rapists.

US establishment, regardless of the political party in power has always backed the pro-colonial forces/elements of Pakistan's establishment, which is invariably the military. It will be rather futile pleading to their pseudo democratic sensibilities.

The administration or intelligence agencies may be supporting foreign tyrants but there are ways of making it hard for them.

If Pakistanis raise funds and file class action lawsuits against the criminals it will make life hard for them and the administration will have difficulty in continuing to let in criminals into the country.

Imagine filing a massive lawsuit against Nawaz Sharif. The point can be made that he’s a convicted criminal, so how is he allowed to live in the UK. All his wealth should be confiscated to pay damages to his victims.

The legal route holds a lot of potential.

Irony is petitioning the same Americans who toppled PM Imran Khan and thus installed the current 'Imported Govt', which is not getting even $1 billion reprieve by the Americans through the IMF...

Unbelievable!!

There is no irony in reality if you let go your normal dishonesty when it comes to analyzing Imran Khan politics

If this is an 'Imported Govt'

Pakistan's military aid is suspended since 2018

But that doesn't mean USA has no interference in Pakistan and it's issues

.
I very much hope all military personal visiting US should be banned by the US and their assets frozen till these generals don't hold the elections.
Not gona happen, these generaaals server US interests just fine, the US is quite happy.

It is not yet confirmed whether or not these moves of the PTI activists in the US have the consent of Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf USA chapter’s campaign to invite Washington into Islamabad’s internal affairs and sponsor a bill linking Washington’s military aid to Islamabad to the human rights situation has all the ingredients to become PTI’s ‘memogate’. It is not yet confirmed whether or not these moves of the PTI activists in the US have the consent of Imran Khan, but inviting Washington to interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs and targeting the US military aid to Pakistan by linking it with the human rights situation here may become a charge-sheet against the party.

In 2011-12, the then PPP government was seriously haunted by ‘memogate’ after the revelation of a memo, delivered to the US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen by Husain Haqqani, seeking help for the civilian government against the military because of domestic turmoil, triggered by the US raid that had killed al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.

Haqqani though had denied anything to do with the memo, in 2012 a judicial commission, headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, had found him (Haqqani) guilty of authoring the controversial memo and added that the former US envoy “was not loyal to the country”. On Sunday, Sajjad Burki, who claims to be the focal person for the USA to PTI Chairman Imran Khan and ex-president of PTI USA, tweeted, “Thanks Tariq Majeed for hosting Congressman Greg Casar. He pledged his support for democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Pakistan. He is co-sponsoring a bill to tie military aid to human rights conditions in a country.”

The tweet also contains a video statement of the US Congressman and the requests made to him by Sajjad Burki and another person. According to the media reports, PTI’s focal person in the US, Sajjad Burki, and party member Atif Khan met Congressman Greg Casar and requested him to do his part in bringing a resolution against the human rights violations in Pakistan.

While asking Casar’s support for the resolution, Burki said that 86 members of the US Congress had signed PTI’s petition so they want him (Greg Casar) to become part of it as well. “You should be able to count on me to be somebody who is asking questions about how the US could be supporting democracy and human rights in Pakistan and other places,” the Congressman said in response. Following May-9 attacks on military installations, buildings, symbols, etc., by the PTI protesters, the Pakistani-American Political Action Committee (PAKPAC) campaign led to more than 60 US congressmen approaching US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to pressurise the Pakistani government to improve the human rights situation in the country.

The committee has commended the 65 Members of the Congress, who are signatories to a letter written to Secretary Blinken, urging him to prioritise the promotion and protection of democracy and human rights in Pakistan.

According to the ‘Dawn’ report, the committee though says it’s only trying to strengthen democracy in Pakistan and does not support or oppose any political party or group, the PTI leader, Shahbaz Gill, did address PAC’s annual dinner recently and solicited support for “those striving to maintain constitutional democracy” in Pakistan. Gill also visited some US lawmakers with the PAC team and explained to them the current political situation in Pakistan. “Some PAC members, including a past president, however, objected to his (Gill’s) inclusion in the team.

A fortnight back, an audio clip allegedly capturing a Zoom meeting between Imran Khan and US Congresswoman Maxine Moore Waters also surfaced on social media. Contrary to his public posturing against the US and against American interference in Pakistani affairs, Khan was heard making behind-the-scenes efforts to repair ties with Washington. He emphasised that Pakistan was currently facing an immensely challenging situation, describing it as the most difficult period in the nation’s history. As the discussion continued, Imran Khan, in his customary fashion, shifted the blame for the attack on the military establishment and intelligence agencies. He claimed that these institutions wielded significant power within Pakistan. Khan appealed to Congresswoman Waters to support him and raise her voice in his favour.

Let’s assume that Pak army is working for USA (which I think everyone knows), Imran Khan asking Army go back in barracks, USA understand that if that happened, they (USA) will loose the contrôle of the main power in Pakistan.

So in this way, yes they may have participated (mastermind) of what Pak military wanted. But used PDM to do so to give it a « civilian coup » cover.

So now if PTI is asking this same USA to « stop » arming funding or whatever Pakistan Army in the name of « democracy » is like trying to backfire to the USA their own game.

Currently PDM, Army, and PTI all need USA but each one for its own reason !

USA succeeded to use the division we already have in Pakistan,

I cud be wrong of course… I don’t have crystal ball in place of my sleeping brain..

. .
This whole thread is a non starter. Military aid/ sales to Pakistan have been suspended since 2016. Only spares for equipment previously sold is allowed on case to case basis.

That can only mean one thing, that Imran Khan will hounded for a few years, then when the time is right, he be rewarded by our patriotic dispensation like Hussian Haqqani was.

Like others have said, the US doesn’t give Pakistan military aid any more. The issue we’re discussing is to place sanctions on the criminals and not to allow them or their families into the country and to seize their wealth. And to help with bringing democracy to Pakistan.

As mentioned before, the US or Canada are not monolithic societies with all power flowing from a single source. There are many centers of power and public opinion. In addition, there is the justice system that is independent. It is possible to convince sections of the society to help promote democracy in Pakistan.

The issue of suppression of freedoms in Pakistan is being raised in all Western countries.

Haider Mehdi said that he’s learned that in the US, Canada and UK intelligence agencies have started collecting data on violations of human rights in Pakistan. They even contacted him and he knows many Pakistanis they have already interviewed.

Ultimately the people committing crimes in Pakistan will be brought to justice, inshallah.
