Carrying a historical name that is not consistent with historical fact is not unique to India. As I mentioned before we have Romania, a country in present day Europe that carries a name similiar to the ancient Roman Empire whose successor state today is Italy. However what is unique about Indian's is they have become delusional. The Romanian's don't claim Rome just because of their name.

Throughout the ancient history, greeks, ME's, East Asians, all traded with India. Or conterminous India whichever you like to take.

And further they used the term Ἰνδία. So if you want to be factually true to history say "Ἰνδία" instead of the English transliteration that became current only in 1700s. Furthermore just because in 2018 you have a name used in history for the region on the Indus [which is coterminous to Pakistan] does not mean you are the same.

Apply your 'sore' logic in your own (former) country. Name your country Sindhu or Hindu, the river as Sindhu, a name given by the Indo-Aryans.

If you used Gangoo logic would it mean Romania is the successor state to Ancient Roman Empire? Just to clarify today Rome is called Italy and the name 'Rome' is restricted to the capital of that country.

Your logic applies when the river is called Indus as it originates and ends in Pakistan. It's a trans-national river and the river will never be confined to Pakistan. There's a lot of grey area when you associate it to Pakistan alone.

A Indian living in Tamil Nadu walking around with thoughts that his ancestors had anything to do with Mohenjo Daro or Taxila, a land distant, a land alien to him, a land he never set foot is what exactly? Delusion on monumental scale.

Nothing to do with Todays Taxila or Mohenjo Daro as both regions were ruled over and tossed over by a lot of different rulers who have destroyed the purpose of Taxila (land of the great university). Those who inherited the property cannot claim they are sole owners of such rich culture while taking pride in ones who destroyed the same culture.

India inherited the culture Pakistan inherited part of the land. That's as far as your claim goes.

And who knows, as South Indians are really a mix of North Indians and South Indian groups. There is no particular identity to a Tamil Person other than his language whose ancestor may or may not be from Tamil Nadu.
