Taliban unveil new rules banning women in TV dramas

this, if true, will truly kill their entire electronic entertainment industry. HAVING said that...given the psychological issues & unreal standards the entire electronic entertainment industry has created, I'm not sure if killing their entire electronic entertainment industry is entirely a bad thing...kids will play outside more, husband and wife will talk to each other more, brothers and sisters will hang out together more...instead of being sitting like zombies in front of the tv...I'd like to see this happen for a year and then send a team of psychiatrists and psychologists to afghanistan and measure the mental health of their families...this, I'd like to see. I feel they will prove to be considerably healthier families than those in our tv & cable addicted society...

Who said anything about taliban?

Did the westerners force the Afghans to dress up little boys like girls? No. It was their own decision.

When you implement skewed laws then you have certain ramifications. Sexually frustrated afghan men with no education will find different ways to satisfy themselves.

It's similar to Catholic priests who are not allowed to marry. They start abusing boys. So there you have it....silly laws = ramifications.
Yes, you are correct. The evil American collaborator dress those young Afghan kid together with their imperial US master. Dont try shed responsible when afghan poor state is caused by US incompetent management that included rampant drugs usage in Afghanistan. Taliban now ban drugs usage and strict enforcement of eradicate drug abuse.

You will claim Taliban is evil. Former Afghanistan government is benevolent to allow mass consume those deadly drugs. Nobody will trust evil West regime. They deserve to be nuked.

Without women there is no Drama , they are on to something
All Life Dramas are connected to women

However I think after 10 years their rules will soften down
Saudia in 80's had similar rules now their rules have changed and you see Cinema / Drama and women on TV

It took them about 30 years to open up their society after reaching Education Literacy rate over 80%

Afghanistan on other hand , has very low literacy rate so much time is needed

There is no cure to an uneducated mind (Jihalat )

Taliban unveil new rules banning women in TV dramas

Female Afghan television presenters

New guidelines set out by the Taliban prohibit female presenters from appearing on TV without headscarves

Women have been banned from appearing in television dramas in Afghanistan under new rules imposed by the Taliban government.

Female journalists and presenters have also been ordered to wear headscarves on screen, although the guidelines do not say which type of covering to use.

Reporters say some of the rules are vague and subject to interpretation.

The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in mid-August and many fear they are gradually imposing harsh restrictions.

The militant Islamist group, which took control following the departure of US and allied forces, almost immediately instructed girls and young women to stay home from school.

During their previous rule in the 1990s, women were barred from education and the workplace.

They include the banning of films considered against the principles of Sharia - or Islamic - law and Afghan values, while footage of men exposing intimate parts of the body is prohibited.

Comedy and entertainment shows that insult religion or may be considered offensive to Afghans are also forbidden.

The Taliban have insisted that foreign films promoting foreign cultural values should not be broadcast.

Afghan television channels show mostly foreign dramas with lead female characters.

A member of an organisation that represents journalists in Afghanistan, Hujjatullah Mujaddedi, said the announcement of new restrictions was unexpected.

He told the BBC that some of the rules were not practical and that if implemented, broadcasters may be forced to close.

The Taliban's earlier decision to order girls and young women to stay home from school made Afghanistan the only country in the world to bar half its population from getting an education.

The mayor of the capital, Kabul, also told female municipal employees to stay home unless their jobs could not be filled by a man.
The Taliban claim that their restrictions on women working and girls studying are "temporary" and only in place to ensure all workplaces and learning environments are "safe" for them.
Good Job. They have done the right thing.

These extremely religious Afghans will dress up young boys like girls and watch them dance around so it'll be fine don't worry

This video is from Northern alliance era not Taliban era. there r several documentaries about it

Pakistani libturds r the worst type of hypocrites. they will portray Taliban as bacha baaz but they will turn a blind eye from the bacha bazi and rape culture in pakistan. the educated elite of Pakistan is promoting homosexuality and the zaani politicians of pakistan are still given air time on our TV.

They are doing for what they were fighting for decades.

Their country their laws.

They fought, they sacrificed and ruling their own country. No one have rights to interfere!

The Taliban all these years were forcing farmers to grow opium and then the Talibs would sell the opium to the CIA.

Good Job. They have done the right thing.

How ?

In that new Pakistani film thread about female soldiers just two days ago you were condemning the film and the Pakistani TV drama industry in general because - like you always say - "It is against the orders of Allah". Man, do you ever hear yourself ?

What sacrificed ? If NATO had gone full-on invasion on the Taliban like it did with Libya and has been doing in Syria for the last ten years, the Taliban would have ceased to exist. If NATO intelligence agencies wanted they could have easily assassinated the Taliban embassy people in Qatar which has been operating since 2013. The assassinations didn't take place despite NATO claiming to kill Taliban in Afghanistan. So why were these embassy people left alive ? Why did NATO want to regime-change Gaddafi-guided Libya and Assad-governed Syria ?

Taliban allow opium to be sold overseas to poison more american youngster while strictly enforce ban of local usage.

This is a double win for Taliban. Earn hard cash while destroy the generation of american. They learn this trick from British selling opium to China in 19th century.

Well, the Taliban never cared for Afghans either. :) From this article :
From an estimated 200,000 opium and heroin addicts in 2005, the number rose to nearly a million in 2009 and reached between 1.9 million to 2.4 million in 2015, the United Nations reported. The growing number of addicts reflects the octopus-like reach of opium and heroin. Husbands often addict wives, and mothers often addict children — by using opium while pregnant, by exposing the children to secondhand opium smoke and by using a pinch of opium to calm them when they are fussing.

"Many children become dependent on drugs, mainly opiates, at an alarmingly young age while in the care of drug-dependent parents or family members," the U.N. reported.
