The real enemy in within, and not India which is the favorite whipping boy and a scape-goat for Pakistani politicians to cover their failures and incompetency. We have yet to decide who is our real enemy, and the Taliban are taking advantage of this confusion, said Afrasiab Khattak of the Awami National Party, which governed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa until the last election, when it won just one seat.
Further, the drummed-up threat and anti India paranoia by the PA is calculated to arm itself to the teeth with increasing defence budgets and buying fancy warlike toys by convincing a gullible public that they are the only salvation for Pakistan and Islam, without which they would be sidelined by the people and a democratically elected government. Being non entities in the overall scheme of things is not what the PA wants.
However, it is encouraging to know that a shift has recently occurred in the PAs thinking whereby they have conceded that the real threat is internal and not India.
