Taiwan will forcefully expel PLA warplanes next time: Tsai Ing-wen

How convenient to deny US didn't take side when whole world know US anti the communist block ever since the communist revolution worldwide. US provide the naval and logistic support for the losing side to retreat to Taiwan.

The “Red Commie” stuff didn’t happen until the 1950’s. Before then it really wasn’t on the radar. In the 1940’s it was more a worry about Soviet influence.

It was more like hey if you guys want to kill each other...well go right ahead.

Before CCP actually defeated KMT, US underestimate CCP could defeat the KMT in the civil war. The West Bloc and eastern Bloc divided on the Berlin Wall ment c communist was never on the mind of the US, sarcastic aside that US bet on a loser in the Chinese civil war.

You think China really cared about who won in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Libya or any other war far away? Only if they could see a profit would they care.

Nobody in China was shedding a tear. Nobody in the US was shedding tears when you guys were killing each other back in the 1940s.

Of course we cared about Europeans. They weren’t considered backwards and we are mostly from Europe. Unfortunately you guys were pretty much considered expendable compared to them.

China didn't care for the war far far away distance from their territory because distance war had no direct threat to China internal security interest. No Chinese shed any shed any tear for the people in those war zone countries didn't mean Chinese have no empathy for what they suffering under US expansionist police and US war hopping under the guise of the democracy at work in the region US deem as the undesirable population easy target for training of the US military personal in the actual war and test out news equipment on the effective of the new developed weapon on the innocent civilians.

I see some valid points in your statement. Yes, every war is different, and it is also possible that US is bluffing in regards to Taiwan. But you never know.

What I have gathered from my studies is that US is really good in 'conventional warfare'. And China's attention will be split between Taiwan and US - does not look good in this context to say the least.

I do not think that China will consider nuclear war with US for another entity even if it is Taiwan. China is a sensible country in this respect.

Just within the last couple years the US has refocused itself toward great power competition with China and Russia. The Pentagon released the National Defense Strategy in 2017, which is essentially the broad blueprint to defeat those countries in a crisis. Now you are seeing the huge focused investments in weapon systems and concepts of operation in each budget cycle.

The US military needs another 10 years, to develop and procure the advanced weapons systems needed, and develop the concepts of operations to decisively defeat the Russians and Chinese in a crisis. The US military now is essentially where it was in the late 1970's.....which is on the cusp of a revolution in military technology and COOPs similar to that of the 1980's. The US could defeat Russia and China today, but it would be protracted with high numbers of casualties. In another decade, they should have the right set of capabilities to decisively win any conflict.

Stop pretending to be a ghetto black with your communication, no ghetto black interest in anything on Pakistan forum. You must be Indian blackies that mirror image of your as black.

US didn't really care for Asian, told what we don't know off but US interest collide with communist expansion in Korea, US cared enough to suffer over 100 thousands in casualty in Korean war or another 100 thousands casualty in Vietnam war debunk the lies your lies of US didnt pick side in China civil war against communist Chinese.

You highly underestimate US resolve and military power at your own peril. Just as the Japanese did.

It will end in your defeat and international humiliation.
Really? Why didn't US finished off NK or communist Vietnam? Where is the resolution? Same as afganistan Taliban? Just some US soldier killed and democracy steps in. And US public cannot take causality. Time has changed.

Pearl harbour Spurs US fighting spirit becos Japanese is fool to attack and killed 2000 Americans first. But Taiwan and PRC battle will not be Pearl harbour. There is no incentive to die for Taiwan when mainland US is not threatened.

You are comparing orange to apple. :enjoy:

Taiwan will take over China.
That will be good. It will legalised retake of Mongolia.

China will bigger. :enjoy:

I will say this.....if the US and China were to go to war today, I think US forces would be at very high risk in the first island chain. Potentially even losing in the first weeks of the conflict. I don’t think the US has the right set of capabilities at capacity and forward posture it needs.....yet. The key word is yet, and that is fast changing.

The US is developing and procuring weapon systems in the next 5-10 years that will make it very very difficult for China to achieve its objectives at that time. What the US is doing is flipping the anti access area denial on its head. The US military is going to make the first island chain a graveyard for Chinese forces....but it’s not quite there yet. That’s why China’s time is to act now if it wants Taiwan.

Again this was all about Russian expansionism. Russia was the focus not the Chinese Communists. Russia was supplying those Mig15 jets to North Korea not China. Russia was supplying the T-34's not China. We didn't care about your technologically backwards country. You weren't going anywhere.

Sure US didn't care about Chinese communist but in 1972 the secret handshake to diplomacy normalization with China then proceeded to withdraw from South Vietnam all because of China is the main player would help to stop Soviet communist spread throughout South Asia and eventually collapse of Soviet Union. No matter how backward China was in the 1950 through the 70's, US realisation better for communist China to be on the US side than China be the enemy in Asia. US fully aware China would fight any war against any foe at China doorsteps.
