You are saying Suga is Hilter? Good!
Yasukuni shrine is a torn in flesh for all Asian countries invaded by Japan. China, North, South Korea, Philippine, Indonesian all hated it. Even in Taiwan, those worship the shrine are minority. Any Taiwan politician claim to endorse the shrine will be suicide for its politic career.
Symbol for imperialism is a bad augument. Yasukuni is for all of Japan's war dead, not just WW2. So it isn't a place specifically for just WW2. Empire of Japan came into being during a time of empires and even if we today discredit the old ways of empire, there is still an expectation to be had for each country holding their war dead at a traditional place of memory. Also, countries like the Philippines and Indonesia were colonies and were invaded for the reason of the colonial owners playing big power geopolitics, which is why "class A war criminal" is really a construct to seed an impression into new generations of all blame for the war being Japan and not a result of big power competition. Another reason is that Yasukuni with the Chinreisha so also pays tribute to those died as cvilians and those that died fighting against Japan. The basis for memorial for both sides is there. But maybe because it is a good thing, it can gain credibility, and that credibility might be what China also does not like about Yasukuni.
