Japan troops won’t get involved if China invades Taiwan, PM Yoshihide Suga says

Peaceful unification is not agaisnt Japan's policy. Only a forceful is.
Yes. I fully agree with you on the part of a peaceful reunification and I hope that will be the final outcome.

The end result will depends on Tsai of DPP. If she declared Independence tomorrow, the only scenario will be a forceful military reunification by PRC as it is compelled to act as stated in its anti-secessionist law.

Hence US action today is in fact charting a very dangerous course for Taiwan.

Let hope Tsai is not that silly and destroyed Taiwan in the process.

IMO USA may be silly but not that silly to get directly involved in any confrontation with China.

Peaceful independence would also be fine.

Sovereignty is not negotiable as far as China goes.

Taiwan is not part of PRC's sovereignty.

If there's only one China, then let it be the PRC. ROC can change to just "Taiwan". CCP China won't allow multy party democratic politic structure on the PRC so no point in the KMT living on anyway.

US is itching for the war due to decades of neglect economic policies.
World peace was never and will never come by talk/negotiations.it was always zero sum game.
It’s may be sound strange but history of the humans is there to tell the truth.

US like Rome is not sustainable in peace ,either US constantly remains at war or she perish.

Japan is nothing to win here in the conflict, deep down they want yanks out of japan too.

He just says that it is not definite that Japan will intervene and so China is on notice that Japan may join US to defend Taiwan if China tries to invade.
Japanese would be last people to join the war. Japan wouldn't want Chinese bombs falling on their cities for a war which is not theirs.

Works the other way round as well.

China versus Taiwan is one thing.

China versus Taiwan + USA + Japan is a whole different matter entirely.

Japan has not ruled out getting involved and that is the most important message to China. If China was to attack Japanese cities, then China can be sure that Japan will go nuke within a matter of months.

Chinese pdf posters and some of their Pakistani allies think it will be China doing all the attacking, but in the real world the firing will be both ways.

Just little Taiwan can terrorise Shanghai as it has has supersonic cruise missiles that can hit it when launched from Taiwan.

You are missing a point, US has a policy after Vietnam that it never gets involved with her own men in a civil war. US has not engaged any enemy in last 3 decades that can actually hit her mainland. My point is that US or Japan are not going to get involved with their forces for a land that is not even theirs.
US and Japan will try their best to squeeze China but that's about it.

What exactly were US special forces doing fighting in Syria then?

US and Japan will not use ground troops but air and naval forces to fight China over Taiwan. It is the Taiwanese that will have to fight on the ground in numbers if the Chinese manage to land on its soil.

Did US bomb Syrian positions directly? Did US declare a war against Syria?
If China declared war on Taiwan, you will see what i am saying?

Look, even the US and Japan do not know if they will intervene if China tries to invade Taiwan.

The crucial point is that neither have ruled this option out and the statement from the Japanese PM just reinforces this position. He could have just said we will never get involved if China tries to invade Taiwan but he did not do so most pertinently.

China has to factor in having to also fight USA and Japan as part of its calculations before it decides to invade Taiwan.

Did Russia take US angle when fighting Ukrain and Georgia? I remember the statements from US before Georgia war and guess what happened when War broke out. It will be same again.

The defense of Taiwan is a scenerio that is largely in the air and at sea. Those realms are less human resouce intensive than ground forces. No reason to assume the JSDF number of personnel will fall below 200,000.

That's right, sea and air operations are not as labour intensive. But they STILL do require significant manpower which Japan will struggle with.

That will depends on your own understanding of what sovereignty means.

For simple layman, I will do it in one simple word - a forceful military takeover and reunification of Taiwan Province.

And the good news it will be over within 48~72 hours with some fighting continuing in the urban for the weeks before they are all be weeded out. A likely scenario

When the late China Paramount Leader Deng Xiaoping reminded UK PM Margaret Thatcher of China's sovereignty over Hong Kong in his plain simple language, Margaret Thatcher was so shocked and emotional that she tripped down the steps of China Great Hall. That is history. Hong Kong is China today no matter how the British may attempt to distort it , like it or not.

The US will make up the rest.
