Now some pro-independence Taiwanese propose the concept of "Greater China"

United Daily News: Shih Ming-teh's Greater One China proposal | Cross-Strait Affairs | FOCUS TAIWAN - CNA ENGLISH NEWS

Seven political figures led by former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairman Shih Ming-teh put forward a Greater One China concept in Taipei Tuesday, in the hope that it would help different political groups across the Taiwan Strait get around their political differences and move forward.

According to the proposal, the Greater One China is an expanded version of the current one-China concept, comprising both the People's Republic of China in Beijing and the Republic of China in Taiwan. Each side has its own sovereignty, which however overlaps with the other, and both are connected by the Greater One China concept, the proposal states.

"Some" Taiwanese also believe in moon god.

The Ma Ying Jeou KMT administration is quite pro-PRC, and in many ways, trying to go the way of stealth integration with PRC. Instead of supporting Vietnam on Paracel, Ma Ying Jeou administration tell the whole world that "from the perspective of history, geography and international law, the ROC’s inherent territory extends to the Spratly Islands (Nansha Islands, 南沙群島), Paracels, Macclesfield Bank (Zhongsha Islands, 中沙群島) and Pratas Islands (Dongsha Islands, 東沙群島) as well as their surrounding waters and respective seabed and subsoil."

So Ma told everyone Paracel and Spratly belongs to Republic of China. This time, Ma has stabbed USA at the back.

Taiwan reiterates Paracel Islands sovereignty claim - Taipei Times

The government on Friday reiterated its claim over the disputed Paracel Islands (Xisha Islands, 西沙群島) in the South China Sea while expressing concern over escalating tensions between Vietnam and China over a large Chinese oil rig in the area.

Tensions in the broad swath of sea have so escalated that as many as dozens of Chinese and Vietnamese ships are in a standoff, sparking worries that a larger conflict could be brewing.

As the two claimants continued to rebuke each other over the incidents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected their claims of sovereignty over or occupation of the islands, which it said rightfully belong to the Republic of China (ROC) government.

The ministry reiterated its position that “from the perspective of history, geography and international law,” the ROC’s inherent territory extends to the Spratly Islands (Nansha Islands, 南沙群島), Paracels, Macclesfield Bank (Zhongsha Islands, 中沙群島) and Pratas Islands (Dongsha Islands, 東沙群島) as well as their surrounding waters and respective seabed and subsoil.

“There is no doubt that the Republic of China has sovereignty over the archipelagos and waters,” the statement said.

God plays havoc on us is forgivable, but the evil we bring onto ourselves is the hardest to bear.

they are not going anywhere. Taiwanese politicians know it very well, especially the DPP.
it's the Taiwanese people who'll suffer the most. but thanks to 'democracy' and 'people's choice', they can't blame it on others.
