T-129 - Pakistan signs biggest ever defence exports deal of Turkish history

. .
What is the current status of T129 P variant helicopters?
Waiting on the Turkish - US spat on the S400 sale to resolve or reach some conclusion to try and move forward on the powerplant issue.
Production and coordination isnt stuck and so far the initial project coordination is moving forward.

.
A team from Turkey had recently visited the US to seek third party permission for sale of the US made power plant in this helicopter to Pakistan. They were refused permission by the US officials and with the current tiff between Turkey and USA it will be very unlikely that these helicopters could be delivered to Pakistan Army aviation.

dont worry turk

Sorry what? Russia just gave you Mi-35s and China CATIC WZ10 Attack Helicopter was rejected by the Army because it’s engine could not perform in hot and high weather. I asked the Chinese CATIC President on why could not they offer a better engine? He responded that the helicopters given for trials to PA were meant for operating in Taiwanese battlefields hence the engine was accordingly for that environment. China did offer PA to re send the Helios back with upgraded engines, but Army said no thanks. Seems like PAKISTAN Army will have to eat it’s words now and go crawling back to China very soon

go crawling back to China very soon

Why would they go crawling back???????

Buyers regularly go back and forth assessing different options before a confirmed purchase

T129 were not supposed to reach Pakistan tommorow but 5 years down the line, plenty of time for both Turkey to resolve issues and China to deliver a better product

Your strange whining aside everything is still to play for

If I had a penny for every time I have heard this crap from a newbie here. Some are either to blind to see the obvious or too stupid to comprehend the inevitable. Take your pick and move on

Are you on your monthly cycle or something, these things happen.

Multiple nations are having the same problem with the U.S currently

A way will be found, no point in having a strop and getting the rope ready to hang yourself

Hi,

It is not called 'crawling back'---. Please get this term out of your vocabulary---.

It is about assessing and re-assessing the situation according to the ground realities---.

For the defense of a nation---your use of this term is disgusting and shameless---.

At that moment, China's new heavy attack helicopters (10t) maybe have come out.

There was also the Rooivalk Mk2 option. Denel said it was writing down the Rooivalk's prior development costs (i.e. eating them, not adding them to the procurement cost) while also re-using the same airframe, engine and dynamic parts. The only changes were in the electronics and munitions. Each of the critical parts would have to come from Safran Group and Airbus Helicopters, both of whom were willing to back it (and the Army is familiar with them via the Fennec and Puma programs).

Yes, it would have been riskier than other options, but Denel said for an order of 45 helicopters it would basically shift the manufacturing and support base to the buyer. Once the design is in place one can continue developing it for alternative (i.e. Russian or Chinese) engines and dynamic parts down the line.
