Hello! New here..Is there any new update on the Philippine purchase?
This question was asked five days ago to TAI's Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications director Serdar Demir in the Bangkok Defense and Security 2019 Fair. He said that the negotiations on the ATAK helicopters with Philippines are about to be completed, as well as the Malaysia-Anka negotiations and the Philippines-ATAK negotiations will be the next possible export of TAI.

“We have positive meetings in ATAK in the Philippines and in ANKA in Malaysia ”

At the booth of Turkish Aerospace Industry; a lot of our products took part including Anka, T129 Atak, Aksungur, Heavy Class Attack Helicopter, 10 Ton General Purpose Helicopter, Hürkuş, Gökbey.

Serdar Demir, Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications at the Turkish Aerospace Industries, which has completed many important projects, including domestic helicopters, said, “The Asia fair is very important for us because we are in close contact with many countries in Asia. Malaysia, Philippines and Pakistan are the countries where we want to work closely together. Our negotiations are going well and we are about to finalize some of them. We want to give good news to Turkey. Interest in our models is very good. Delegations from Malaysia, the Philippinnes, Nigeria and Pakistan showed interest to our models today. We have positive talks in ATAK in the Philippines and ANKA in Malaysia. ”

ATAK, Gökbey and ANKA models attracted the most attention

Stating that Asia is a very important market for them, Demir said, “We will be closely trading and cooperating with many countries by strengthening our relations in Asia. Our ANKA, Atak and Gökbey helis were the most interested in our product portfolio. “They ask how to build their own submarines ”

Özgür Güleryüz, Assistant General Manager of STM Defense Technologies Engineering, said, “One of our most important areas is the maritime field. We consider that Thailand and the surrounding countries have great potential. We think that we can carry out shipbuilding activities here too. We were very busy today as the first day. We hosted more than 10 delegations in a few hours. We had very good meetings with the delegations from the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. The fair is currently active and efficient. They want to understand the activities that we carry out especially regarding the submarine. Everyone has the expectation of building their own submarine in particular. Expectations come up with questions such as how we can advance on the submarine. ”

“Thai Air Force uses our night vision devices”

M.İsmail Çoker, Market Development Director of Aselsan said the following; “The Asia and Asia Pacific market is important to us. It is one of the regions where the defense budget is increasing in the world. Therefore, we give great importance to this region for many years. The fair is extremely busy. Although it was the first day today, there were many high-level delagations from the countries in the region. Therefore, I can say that it was a very productive fair for us. They are most interested in our stabilized weapon systems, communication devices, electro-optical systems and anti-drone systems. We have been active in the region for a long time. We have products used in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam. The reason why we are here is to investigate opportunities in other regional countries and to prepare a policy for them. ”

Salam Bro, i am old here can you kindly give me any updates about Pakistan's T-129 Atak...

. .
Jordan donated the AH-1F to the Filipinos.

As far as remember from last year, the negotiations were about 4 AH-1F transfers. AH-1Fs are completely outdated and will be historical artifacts in next ten years. It can be used for training instead of TAH-1P, but does not meet modern combat conditions. Jordanian 1Fs are at least 35/40 years old.

.
It will only be two for sure. :)

Agreed on it being very old and will only be good primarily for training and SOME combat.

That's just an unsigned blog post that has no weight at all.

Event with CATSAA on the T-129 engines, the export will only be delayed 2 years at max as the Turkish engine is on it's way and past critical stages of development.

This is fast. I thought it was going to be operational until 2024-2028?

I love the ATAK, but this is the primary elephant in the room re: Philippine purchase. Any idea on how they will potentially work around it?

I really hope this pushes us away from T129 towards T629.
