I have no doubt that the FSA has plenty of unsavory elements...but that doesn't change the fact that Assad had his own people shelled and slaughtered...Syria is in the mess it's in because Assad and his government made the absolute worst choices when this was only a few demonstrations...It is understandable that he and his government were nervous after what happened to Gadahfi and others in the region...but then he out-Gadahfis Gadahfi...did he expect a different reaction maybe?

That's True the west support terrorists in Syria, they give them a lot of information and weapons that was bought by the GCC. GCC pays and send terrorists to Syria.

2. New parties ( and the opposition is the the government, Qadri Jamil for example)
3. Emergency Law ended
4. more then 70+ laws and bills were passed in the first months of the conflict
add all of those up that would equal to the Syrians demands, so the government fulfilled the people's demands and requests. however when the government did that, the west HATED IT, so they went to create an armed group to create chaos hoping they will topple Alasad. Trust me if the majority of Syrians rose up Alasad wouldn't last a minute in his office, no one can overcome the power and the will of the people, however Syrians love him and want him. So now Syria is fighting world terrorism, that terrorism is supported by the west, gcc, and etc.

What the AP and Guardian Reports fail to mention.

1. Seven policemen were killed according to the Lebanese and Israeli reports, which suggests that several of the demonstrators were not demonstrators but armed gunmen who were shooting at the police.

2. The AP and Guardian reports do not mention the terrorist acts committed by several demonstrators including the torching of the courthouse and the Baath party headquarters as well as the attacks on the communications headquarters and the hospital. These occurrences are acknowledged by both the Israeli and Lebanese reports.

The two Western reports convey the impression that the demonstrators in Daraa were peaceful and non-violent as in Egypt. The fact that there were demonstrators with firearms involved in an armed attack on government buildings including acts of arson is not mentioned.

The protests took place in a small town of 75,500 inhabitants within 10 km of the Jordanian border [the AP report states that Daraa has 300,000, that is the population of the province not the city]. The press reports do not address the important question. Who was behind the acts of violence in Daraa?
