Suzuki Alto Prices increases : up to Rs. 85,000

Someone is salty now that the patwari funds are drying up.

Haven't seen a lot of you guys lately.
Money must be tight at the Maryam media cell:toast_sign:
Why target him in person, why not focus on his critic?

I am avid PTI voter but I agree with his points.

Cars have become very expensive in Pakistan due to economic austerity of PTI-led government. So why blame PAK Suzuki only?

Fix the damn economy and make things affordable for the masses, is the point.

All I see here are irrational comments from certain members without any understanding of economics. Some are even comparing prices of cars in Pakistan with the same in USA, Canada and India.

Every damn car from every brand in Pakistan is expensive these days. Look at the prices of Hyundai in Pakistan; you will forget Honda.

And yes, imports are no longer feasible for many in Pakistan - too much tariffs imposed. I know this from relatives who are in this business.

This is because 70% of parts are being imported. So now when taxes are imposed on imports there prices are gone up.
As long as they don't localize the production prices will remain up.

How will they localize production so soon? Easier said than done when WE are lacking in industrial capacity in the face of energy crisis.

Pure imports are even more expensive than locally assembled stuff.

Local vendors are already manufacturing parts but they are of low quality. If the auto industry wants they can invest money and can order those vendors to produce according to their standards. But there is lack of long term vision on both the previous Govt. and the auto industry.

1,5 million for a 660 cc which can barely take a family of 4 to over a few hrs journey is a joke. it would be hard-pressed in the summer heat of Pakistan and is simply a mockery... The government is simply helpless in front of these big 3. I had big hopes for kia and hyundai but it seems that they have just toed the line and are there to reap profits... Picanto is on offer for 1.95 million and that too the older version / shape with a 1000cc engine and not the 1.2 engine... I recently bought a barely used 2015 model of Mitsubishi 3.5 Pajero for a lesser price than a picanto.
Its easy to put the blame on the government but i honestly believe government carries some responsibility but not all. we are all a party to this... They keep the prices high bcoz ppl buy those dinkis rather they line up with on money for them. Things may improve with improving vendor base and improving the steel industry of Pakistan but for that to happen newer players need to come in and the government needs to enforce the deletion program in its true spirit.

Previous government introduced Pakistan's first auto policy to expand competition which in turn would force all brands to introduce higher quality cars in Pakistan. It was this development which pushed PAK Suzuki to replace much of its line-up in Pakistan in recent years.

In current environment since auto sales have declined across-the-board, talks of further investments in improving this sector sound unrealistic.

During PMLN Govt. there were massive imports of cheap used cars from Japan. People were getting best performance to price ratio and it worried the traditional 3 bs of auto industries and they quickly launched some newer models. Now that the imports have been stopped now they are in control again. If this Govt. bring one or two more companies it will increase competition. As for price it will at the end will depend upon the amount of localization.

Suzuki means one thing. Garbage in and garbage out. I feel pity for the people of Pakistan who has to deal with this.

If this govt. manages to bring Renault back it will be a game changer for Auto Industry. It will pump up the competition and customers will benefit.

No it wont. It will add another thug.

The whole policy needs a rethink.

At this price you can import a brand new Japan made Alto, a much better build quality.

With shrinking revenue, it was a waste of money to import foreign cars. The Nawaz govt actually reduced exports. A great feat in its own.

Then it was dumping borrowed dollars in the market to artificially keep the dollar down.

This was exponentially increasing the debt, which you will pay through your nose.
