Nineteen-year-old Mashal Maheshwari, who moved to Jaipur from Hyderabad in Pakistan’s Sindh province two years ago, has been offered a medical seat in Karnataka after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s intervention.

Mashal, whose both parents are doctors, had scored 91 per cent marks in her CBSE Class XII examination this year. However, she was not allowed to appear for the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) as only NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are allowed to take the examination, while she and her family are here on a long-term visa. After knowing Mashal’s story, Swaraj reached out to her and assured her that she would help her realise her dream.

“Mashal — Don’t be disappointed my child. I will personally take up your case for admission in a Medical College,” Swaraj had tweeted on Sunday.

On Monday, Swaraj had again tweeted, “Mashal — I am watching you on CNN News. Please contact me on Telephone : 011-23794344. I am waiting for your call.” Subsequently, in a telephonic conversation, Swaraj sought Mashal’s certificates over email and offered her a seat in Karnataka.

Talking to mediapersons, Mashal said that the minister, “assured” her and offered her a seat in Karnataka.

However, she said her parents are reluctant to send her to Karnataka.

“My parents are reluctant to send me there because the language and the region are completely new. It took us two years to completely adjust to this environment in Rajasthan,” she said.

Why that face? :what:

In other news, another deserving Indian general category student has been left in the chasm of disparity.
So true... but usually in special cases like these extra seat is added (upto five extra are allowed in some places)

By giving seat to Hindu Pakistani and by killing Indian Muslim. Nice we should also ask our ruling party to do the same in Pakistan.

1 ) To High light The persecution of Pakistani Hindus
2 ) To establish the credentials of BJP as the ONLY Pro Hindu Party
in India
Only the media is highlighting twitter conversations. Unless the Government mentions her in rallies and meetings etc...

The Hindu sympathy must have played a part - but I doubt that this was an act of showmanship.

There are very few Hindus remaining in Pakistan as compared to the percentage in 1947
He means Indian Muslims. Too bad, Indian Muslims don't emigrate to Pakistan.

Once the story was played by the media ; BJP government had to do something

Now it is upto people to say whether it is showmanship OR statesmanship

its not because she is a pakistani hindu, its because she scored 91% in CBSE(Indian central board)and was not getting a seat because of her citizenship, which is still pakistani. She wont get seat in pakistan because of her board, so sushma has to intervene.

The Hindu population is growing in Pakistan as per a survey report. Have you ever been to interior Sindh. You will get your answer.

Atleast the common sense should prevail. When you are giving a different board exam and passing it and then applying for a seat. Everywhere you have to fulfill the pre-requisites. Getting 91% is not a big issue. But atleast the parents who as per article are doctors should know the requirements. It's the same everywhere for international students. And we had different country students studying with us hindus, christain and muslims all studying under one roof. India is no special place.
