Washington:
US National Security Adviser John Bolton told his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on Friday that America supports India's right to self-defence.

Mr Bolton telephoned Mr Doval Friday morning to express his condolences for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and offered the US' full support to India in confronting terrorism.

"I told Ajit Doval today that we support India's right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning... and expressed US' condolences over the terrorist attack," he told PTI.

Mr Bolton said the US has been very clear to Pakistan on ending support to terrorist safe havens.

"We have been very clear on that score... And, we are continuing to be in discussions we are going to have with the Pakistanis," he said.

Earlier, the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked Pakistan to end its support to terrorist safe havens inside the country.

"We stand with #India as it confronts terrorism. Pakistan must not provide safe haven for terrorists to threaten international security," Mr Pompeo said on Twitter.

In a stern message to Pakistan, the White House asked Islamabad to "immediately end" its "support" to all terror groups and not to provide "safe haven" to them, as the US condemned the brutal Pulwama terror attack claimed the lives of at least 40 CRPF soldiers.

Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday that left at least 40 CRPF soldiers dead and five others critically wounded.

COMMENT
"The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late night statement on Thursday.
Thank you US to inform India about its right. Now they know their rights

.
for starters Pakistan can loose around a billion $ trade surplus every year. plus how is Pakistan going to power the choppers that it is trying to buy from Turks? Tejas style?
Any Why would US do that to Pakistan? for India?
An attack on Indian Soldiers in A Conflict Zone Managed by India for 70 Plus years now with no evidence of Pakistani involvement will cause USA to Put Trade Sanctions without any involvement of USA itself in the Attack,Region or the Conflict itself?
Come on man you are smarter than this. Statements are one thing, But USA is a sole super power not some lackey of Third world countries like India And Pakistan to blatantly take sides and Alienate other. Their Issues With Pakistan are due to Afghanistan and the Conflicts of Interests that Directly are between USA and Pakistan. Nit because of India-Pakistan Problems

.
and Beijing is not like washington. We got mutual respect and unconditional support for each other.
US need us but they don't behave well and thats the reason they are not going to win the war or exit from it.
US changes its stance with every new administration. China doesn't love anyone. Except itself.

I meant that if Real Pakistan berated US like PDF "Pakistan" does, only then it will happen. Thank Heavens that the Internet "Pakistanis" are not even Pakistani in many cases let alone be in-charge of running Pakistan policy vis-à-vis USA, UK etcetera etcetera
US changes its stance with every new administration.
The underlying policies that matter to USA remain the same under all administrations!

India’s daddy America has given a green light to India to launch a real surgical strike. When will India oblige?

USA is not India and it is not going to fight your wars against Pakistan. USA knows how much it would cost it if Pakistan turns into another Iran for it.

For Choppers, Pakistan is already empowering its JF-17s from a country you buy most of your hardware from. For Turkish helicopters, there must be layers of backup plans. Pakistan doesn't make decisions in haste.

u.s wants to sell weapon to india and such tension with Pakistan give them golden opportunity for weapon sales to india

India doesn’t need tension with Pakistan to buy weapons from the US. The US is selling them like hotcakes in any case. It has since the Obama days.

Daddy America is licking the boots of its little slave India to do some lip service.

America should remove its diplomatic staff from Pakistan if it really cares about its ally India. Only then will we acknowledge Uncle Sam’s support for its ally India. Until then Trumpland is just paying lip service.

Economic pressure can be applied by denying access to Pakistani goods in US markets ... Pakistan should come out clearly that it’s indigenous movement nothing to do with Pakistan ... foreign minister should use this as a leverage and come on international media ... turn this whole indian story in Kashmiris people favor ... why is Pakistan missing this golden opportunity
I was also thinking this! The local youth, local car and local explosive and the target was an armed envoy. I thought this is not even considered terrorism because it is under occupation? Pakistan should use the publicity to point how the indigenous freedom movement.

Pakistan benefits from China's Sat-Nav system

By Sabena Siddiqui

Currently operational in the coastal city of Karachi in Pakistan, it is the very first time that China has brought its full, highly accurate Beidou system, to a foreign nation.

The system was initially launched after discussion with Pakistan's Strategic Planning Division for military applications and with Pakistan's national space agency, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission for civilian use under an agreement in 2013.

During the initial phase, the first ground based augmentation system is to be installed in Karachi. Providing a safer and more reliable alternate to the American GPS, the new navigation system will offer better precision and accuracy as more satellites and reference stations are gradually launched.

According to the agreement, China provided the Beidou-equipped infrastructure for government and military use at subsidized costs which included the building of differential ground stations that increase the system's accuracy on the ground. Once the second stage is completed, the whole area of Pakistan will be covered.

Based in Beijing, the UniStrong Science and Technology Co, navigation satellite system, positioning and timing service provider, has five base stations and a processing center in Karachi since May 21, 2014.

Zhang Ruifeng, head of the Unistrong's publicity department, gave details that the network installed in Karachi is the full Beidou system with a 2-centimetre accuracy rate. This can be extended up to five millimetres after post-processing and has hitherto been unavailable outside China.

The arrangement transpired as a result of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's trip to Pakistan in May 2013, where both countries enhanced their strategic cooperation in inter-connectivity, maritime cooperation, aerospace and aviation. Pakistan is the first country in the world to sign an official cooperation agreement on BDS, especially in the fields of aerospace and aviation.

Experiencing difficulty at first in finding a suitable site for the navigation system, Wang Yun, manager of UniStrong's product department and leader of the construction team in Karachi, related how she and her team walked around barren hills for days, “because in this arid area, there was scarcely any Internet or communication services, and there were no compatible devices for BDS, we had to keep walking to try and find a proper site."

After the selection of the location, the high precision network took some months to complete and now it enhances the efficacy of basic geographic surveying, land management and port dispatching at a lower cost. As to Pakistan's concerns, BDS has a vast number of military and civilian uses, it helps with urban planning, surveying, mapping environmental supervision, disaster relief efforts, traffic monitoring as well as space technology.

While space technology applications are widely used by shipping lines and airlines, it is also a strategic milestone as BDS will prove to be a revolutionary development for defence and security mechanisms by providing dual navigational layers. After covering the rest of Pakistan, the company looks ahead to equipping more Belt and Road countries with the satellite navigation system.

With plans to expand cooperation involving BDS to Thailand, Sri Lanka and other countries in Southeast Asia, the company aims to continue the establishment and joint construction of base stations as well as to participate in international scientific and technical development and research on BDS.

Most of the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative would be offered the navigation system as part of economic diplomacy. Other notable global navigation systems are Russia's Glonass, the European Space Agency's Galileo and the United States' GPS.

As of now, the vision of BDS is to spread beyond the borders of China. Professor Li Deren from the School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering of Wuhan University said, "Our priority is to expand BDS from China to the frontline of the Belt and Road Initiative, and in this Optics Valley Beidou is a pioneer."

Finally, Beidou is projected to complete global coverage with 35 satellites by 2020, meeting national security requirements by ending military reliance on GPS as well as availing of the quickly expanding market.

Though both GPS and Beidou signals are free services and there is no rivalry over any market share, owning and operating one of only four such international navigation systems carries its own clout. The navigation satellite system brings enhanced prestige and diplomatic opportunities for China as well as leverage to obtain more influence in several international and regional organizations that deal with global satellite navigation issues.

Lastly, this development also establishes China as a leading space power, Beidou has often been referred to as a top space project and it is expected to provide international cooperation opportunities once a Chinese space station is fully functional and in orbit by 2020.

if you were an actual Pakistani you would have known that 1 billion is the surplus in favor of Pakistan. during 2017 $6.4 billion in total two way goods trade took place. Goods imports totaled $2.8 billion; goods exports totaled $3.6 billion. that is more or less each an every year and there is every chance that it will increase. and no, at the present time no one can do without USA, not even China! if any country tries to do without them they end up looking like Libya, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Venezuela

I am a Pakistani.

Like I said, Pakistan can live without the billion dollars which amounts to peanuts. It means zilch in monetary terms. It is not a life and death matter for Pakistan.

Pakistan is focusing on trade with Middle Eastern nations and others closer to home. China Pakistan trade is increasing manifold. Russia is also joining trade with Pakistan. Pakistan is not looking at US for trade surplus. The US is losing massive clout in Pakistan on many fronts. You must be living in a cave to not know this.
