The \'one to ten thingy\' was never \'SOP\' in the PA. Rhetoric to pep up the soldiers for battle should not be confused with \'SOP\', which is what the Indian commentators generally do.
The fact that Indian commentators are still unable/unwilling to acknowledge that fact is in itself a gross \'underestimation of the enemies capabilities and mindset\', and a \'mocking and undermining of the PA\'.
I think Xeric was quite clear about how the PA approaches the IA with this statement:
\"the first lesson that guud militaries taught to their men is to give a 100% to your enemy (in every sphere and aspect to include training, equipment, reinforcements etc etc) and then plan on to screw him.\"
The SOP part was intended to be a pun in case you missed the point.
Since you are so touchy about the PA you start defending it without understanding what is going on and bringing in the Indian commentators I don\'t know why you bring it in here.
The difference in rhetoric and reality is well understood by you, it\'s pretty much the truth what an officer says to his subordinates because thats the way any professional army works. Feed enough rhetoric to a soldier and he believes it. That was the case with the PA and it is well known and documented.
Lastly the part from Xeric that you quoted was never disputed, what was however was the fact that he assumes the IAF is poorly trained and dictates that it should be better trained. Assuming he was an officer rank in the PA and based on his statement, I pointed out that that legacy to underestimate still persists.
