This is a project of CPEC.
Six Lane 392 kilometer Multan to Sukkur section of the motorway is estimated to cost $2.89 billion, and will be six lanes wide. 90% of the project's cost is to be financed by China, with the remaining 10% to be financed by the government of Pakistan. The Pakistani government in January 2016 awarded the contact to build this section to China State Construction Engineering. It is due to be complete in 2018.

I am quite happy to see sudden increase of Motorway network in Pakistan. The NHA plan was to have around 11 Motorways and only around 650km or so of portion had been completed. The total length of Motorways was supposed to be 2200km if my memory is correct. Now suddenly we have 14 Motorways and several expressways with total length of 4500km+ and major part of it already been completed.

I was watching mahaz by Wajahat Hussain where one of the FWO army officer claiming they had built about 700km of Motorway network in Balochistan alone since past 26 months after the instructions were received from Army chief in 2014. The M-8 sounded more like a dream for the last 10 years and hundreds of kilometres of that motorway is now built and partially operational. I have never seen such a pace for projects in Pakistan that Pakistan Army has been doing for CPEC projects

The reason is that army knows the importance of these projects for our future. They are sincere to the development and progress of our country unlike politicians who just know how to do politics on each and every issue and don't give a crap about the country.

These are projects by gov. Not of them under CPEC and remaining under NHA. FWO is also lead contractor in many projects.

FWO is making most of them and government wouldn't have been able to even negotiate for CPEC if the army didn't provide security and wipe off terrorism. The fast pace of the works is also because of FWO and army. If NHA was so efficient it wouldn't have taken centuries to repair highways let alone make them.

Its the vision of pmln gov. They always love to built metetos and motorways. No other gov. in Pakistan has this passion for development.
Fwo would have built these ages ago ,if these projects were their brain child.
