This is a project of CPEC.
Six Lane 392 kilometer Multan to Sukkur section of the motorway is estimated to cost $2.89 billion, and will be six lanes wide. 90% of the project's cost is to be financed by China, with the remaining 10% to be financed by the government of Pakistan. The Pakistani government in January 2016 awarded the contact to build this section to China State Construction Engineering. It is due to be complete in 2018.

It's great for the general public as well as local industries.

The first expressway linking two biggest cities in my province built in 1990s was too congested, now they have added 2+2 extra lanes to the original 2+2 lanes, and have built numerous parallel expressways.

The need is always underestimated....
Probably for the first 1-2 years, that expressway will look empty.
Hope they have reserved some land for future upgrading....
