Once you've done the museums...Georgetown and old town is great.

It is over rated that's why they made most of their museums free. Their metro is the crappiest metro ever.Every week either the red line or yellow line is messed up and they have obnoxious announcements. I once ate a cupcake in georgetown which was 9$ and it wasn't even so good.Plus DC is not safe either.

Interesting statements. Sir, have you actually visited the Texas and Virginia areas? Like Dallas, Plano, Frisco, LMckinney, Allen (North Texas)? Or have you visited Virginia (McLean, Herndon, Dulles and DC areas)?

The most migration is happening from Cali to Texas (and from Northern states to Texas, Virginia and Florida). People are selling their chicken boxes in Cali and actually buying and loving a much better quality of living by 100% for the money, better infrastructure and obviously much more to do. Cali only has a beech advantage that Texas doesn't. The migration from Cali is a testament to it. Just curious, have you actually lived in VA, Texas, etc? Mind you the next Silivon Valley is Austin. It has already passed the Silicon Valley by having the most number of start ups in Austin with obviously a much nicer living environment than tiny little boxes you find in San Fran or elsewhere in Cali. I've lived in all states you mentioned above so I can actually do an Apples to Apples comparison. Thanks

Sir, I agree that Virginia (majority of it) is designed for families. But to say there is nothing for singles, I think you've been looking in the wrong place. Perhaps, you may be a bit of an introvert yourself? I can name you places from Alexandria to DC where its is a seriously female rich environment.

For Texas, yes, we like our BQQ and our Guns. But I don't know where you've lived. Petrolium is only limited to Houston and some outskirts parts of it. Texas has the most diverse economy. There are a ton of Aerospace, Defense, IT, Financial Sector companies all across the Dallas - Ft. Worth area. Then the tech city Austin. In fact, Austin, Plano, Frisco and McKinney are among the top 10 fastest growing cities. So about 5 out of top 10 fastest growing cities are in Texas at this point. Oil and Gas is old Texas in Houston, Odessa, Midlands, etc. If you are referring to the Woodlands outside of Houston, well, you are already out in the country in my opinion. Of course you'd feel like there isn't much for single people. You need to go hang out by the University of Houston / downtown Kirby area. I've lived and enjoyed my life in over 20 states. I can give you the entire lay of the land of the US in terms of where, what, how and when.

Florida is like Texas. Miami, Orlando, Tampa are so diverse and majority Hispanic that there isn't any race IMO as it is so mixed up with everyone. I guess if you go outside in the country, like you'd feel in Texas or elsewhere in the US if you were a non-white. But overall, I find Indians everywhere I go, even in the deep south (South Carolina's governor Nikki Haley is an Indian lady). So this tells how how race effects anything. Its all about connectivity. Take a look at Mr. Obama, if there was "real race" involved, he wouldn't have won!!
