Students are being trained to use weapons against terrorists

Drills of different sorts are conducted in Europe,America etc, etc. These student's will not carry weapon and basic training consists of evacuation plan and how to handle things in crisis situation. If a student hates another student and has an access to a weapon,he surely doesn't need training to kill him,he need's only to pull the trigger,Students fighting is somewhat normal .And i don't think they are teaching them any sort of combat.I don't really understand the logic behind your concerns raised.
How would they save themselves outside school, if they do not carry weapon ( i personally do not support this, I'm just curious).

The part in bold part contradicts the title of thread.

I raised my concern already. but i'm repeating it for you " How would authorities make sure that training (with or without arms) would not be misused."

I know teachers in KPK can carry weapons in school, students are given training but can't carry weapons. This training is only given in some school's,nothing really to worry about.

That's the gamble they are taking and have to in some areas.

You do know that this so called gamble is played with lives of students, the future of any country.

Are the stakes justified?

It's one in a ten thousand school, get real, dude. The odds are against your concerns.

See, that's my perception. And here this is your.
Odds might be against my concerns, but according to me students are supposed to study, not get training to fight. That is the job of government to provide.

Our Indian friends do not really know prevalent culture in our society.

Many Pakistanis are conversant with fire arms. They have been so for as long as I can remember. Then almost all the educated lots have been through NCC and WG. Which means they have the basic training to look after and fire automatic rifles, G-3 that is. I first shot my first cartridge when I was just a kid and has been shooting since.

Case in discussion is a specific one and has to be seen in its context. These teachers and students are not being asked to take over security forces duties. They are also not being taught military style tactics. They are just being taught how to load, arm, aim and fire a weapon. Very basic stuff. Objective of while exercise is to avoid a massacre again if everything else fails. If security forces drop one terrorist, some teacher or Senior student can pick his gun and shoot another one. Instead of all of them getting culled like sheep, they can take out some terrorists. Go down fighting at least.

We are in state of war with these bast***ds. These are extra ordinary times and ask for extra ordinary measures. People of Pakistan need to rise to the occasion and thankfully they are.

Concern of our Indian members is understandable.

seriously!!!

training them for what !!!! even when students are trained but when the time comes it will only be a few of us to fight for others!!!!..this world is full of self centered people and so we are!!!

What? Its the greatest news for your enemy. Students will start killing each other like how its happening in US except that you do not have such strict laws and their implementation.
And where will these weapons be kept? In the schools or at home? If at home, it would be a site to see students carrying Ak-47s strapped to their bags while going to school!!! :laughcry:

If kept centrally in schools, will they be issued to students on arrival? Imagine students with AKs slung across their shoulders during morning school assembly!! :haha:

This is a joke of epic proportions! And dangerous too! Weaponizing a young society ain't a good idea. :nono:

Bad news for our enemies seems like every citizen of pakistan is now turning into a soldier ..........:D

Its a pity you feel that really. Kids have to learn to kill at an age when they should be getting an education, playing sport and just being kids. But not only are they assigned a terrifying responsibility, adults are proud of it. What state of affairs is this?

weapons will not be provided to them ... only training in case they have to use them, only basic knowledge about the weapons and how to protect your self ....it is not just the training related to weapons but basic skills of survival

Ok, but then what's the use of giving weapon training to students when they would not be having any access to these weapons 'in case they have to use them' as you say?? Where would the weapons be? So, training for what? Will they be issued these weapons whilst under a terror attack? That's not an option, so from where would they get the weapons to fight off a terror attack? And at what stage?

Pretty goofy idea and an utter waste of students' time. Whoever thought of this scheme must have been high on pot!!

i totally agree with you ..i thimk thet should not give weapons to students but if they want to train them then i think it will be a good idea ...every one should know how to protect themselves when in danger!!

Such weapons should only be in the hands of a few responsible members of staff, seniors if you like.

It seemed more of an educational demonstration. I doubt there is a plan to mass arm students.

Just to give psychological boost/ confidence to the children returning to school.....some of these high end schools have received threats via a post, so kids needed a boost.....these drills might be actually usefull but weapon training is not much

Guns dont kill people , people kill people
