If you ever try to register for Vipassana in India you would be waitlisted for atleast 3 months..
Number of people worldwide actively practicing Vipassana, Zen, Nath sampraday is huge.. even though officially these people are Christians, Muslims or Hindu etc on paper.. these guys don't really care about their identity obviously.. they are Hakuna Matata wherever they are living life to the fullest..

I want to try Vipassana atleast once, in a few years time maybe. All people that I know have extremely positive things to say about it.

Nalanda was built by Kumargupt , an hindu emperor.

Although I am a Buddhist and I dislike muslims to an extent, it is not true that muslims wiped out Buddhism from India. It was hindus who were mainly responsible for the destruction of Buddhism in India. Hindus made numerous attempt to include Buddhism as a hindu ideology and were successful in most cases. Hindu monks like Adi Shankacharya preached against buddhism and converted many buddhists into hinduism. You mentioned Turkic muslims, but you did not mention that Hindu king Mihirakula also attacked Nalanda and killed many Buddhists in central asia. You also missed Pushyamitra Shunga who destroyed the Mauryan empire and killed many buddhists.

Lets not talk about what happened some thousands of years ago. What is happening now in India btw? Our most holiest site, the Bodh Gaya is being controlled by Hindus. The chairman, directors of the Bodh Gaya management trust must be a hindu. Why is that?

Also there is a temple of Hindu god Jagnnath near the Mahabodhi temple. Why is that so?
