Stereotyping Pashtuns as terrorists!the most wounded nation in imposed Terrorism war!

I believe those stereotypes are post-Independence when you guys were competing for Karachi with Muhajirs. I read some story, whoever crossed into Khokhrapar he became a Nawabzada in Pakistan with a social status and started to look down at others in Pakistan as they were more educated. Otherwise people from North India don't know much Pashtuns because people have never lived with Pashtuns and never came across your Urdu slang with no idea about your lifestyle.

In India, Sindhis are known as rich, intelligent people and hardworking people mainly in business or professionals while in Pakistan Sindhis are seen as backward and uneducated people with their waderas.
There are surely no pashtuns in india nowadays but there were in significant number in 18th and 19th century UP-Delhi, and these stereotypes have developed in that period, not in post-independence.

.
Also you develop stereotypes about strange and least known people, thats how pashtuns were to north india in 18th century.

.
Nah, i was not pointing towards urduspeakers of karachi, i was pointing towards the indian citizens. That stereotype is also very common there.
I agree with you, our folk are gullible and easy to manipulate, especially in the name of islam. A highly educated pashtun is ofcourse not gullible and simpleton, quality education is key

Do not bring India for all of your issues...How does India is related to your Pastun problem...?

India has lot to do with stereotying pashtuns, even the derogatory word "pathan" is originated from india

. .
The narrative about people from tribal areas attracted more to these tendencies is false...the most high profile terrorist attacks in the country have been carried out by people from Punjab
This stereotyping does happen but its not limited to ethnicity
I mean i remember a while back a bunch of sufis with big beards asked us for directions and when they went away the guy next to me was like "hopefully we haven't aided a terrorist attack"
i guess just a product of the environment we have been living in for the last 10 years !

Is it so?...I was with different impression...Most of my muslim friends did not react and they proudly says that Sharukh Khan is a pathan...

Your muslim friends? Well they have main role in creating a particular image of pashtuns , in their urdu literature and society of UP-Delhi. Mughal-centric muslim society of Delhi and lucknow was very hostile to newly arrived pashtun settlers in doab in 18th century. Nowdays urduized descendents of those pashtuns, are assimilated and absorbed, they cant be called pashtun.

.
Its wrong to assume all pashtuns as terrorist or associate terrorism with one ethinicity but why all militants are in pashtuns populated areas and why operation is being carried out in pashtun tribal areas only? Why pashtuns areas are/were safe heaven for terrorists to train and launch terrorist attacks on Pak army and civilians..

pathan is derogatory?
many hindi movies of 70s and 80s equate pathan with bravery and being loyal (to family/friends)...
Some people call all muslims pathan though.. but thats ignorance.

It is corruption of word pakhtun or pashtun. Derogatory in the sense that it is not a proper word but corruption of original word, its meaning is unknown

why Indian pathans call themselves pathan then... (even those who are not claim they are pathans)...
it must be something to aspire for.. and not derogatory.. right?

Words change all the time, if we were using original words we will be speaking ancient languages..

It can not be described as that fear of seeing a beast or monster, its phobia from them on the pattren of islamphobia, that bearded pashtun walking in my city might be a terrorist. For example, just weeks ago, islamabadi residents informed police that there are potential terrorists staying in their mosque. Police arrested them, but it turns out they were pashtun labourers from swat , charsada etc, involved in nearby construction project. Punjabi and sindhi mothers, along with the indian ones, still warn their kids not to go near any pathan or else they will be abducted in a bori and sold to slave labour. Just few days ago, a sindhi man told me that they used to run away in fear to their houses whenever a pathan clothes seller used to come to their village.

@Horus @Oscar

You closed my thread because it discussed racism, tell me why is this retard allowed to spew this nonsense against other Pakistanis? Shouldn't this guy be banned?

You have a hatred for Urdu speaking people, is this because they have contributed more to society than you?

There were, and they end up being classified by Pashtun nationalists today as Mohajirs. So the cycle of racism is more to do with social demographics than with racism in particular.
