Today was "Gandi Jayanti". Let's not talk about War.
Ahimsa is the Mantra :)

Our superiority in IOR and SCS is given. We just have to keep our lines running. 3 more frigates to be signed with Russia too. More frigates can shatter invading formation while destroyers and Carries pound their shattered targets. Our list is like day dreaming but it's a reality 6 +6 ssk old ssk upgrades SSNs lol. Death trap awaiting our neighbors

Hey calm down kid ! Don't jump off the roof shouting !

The arm launcher needs to go ASAP,apart from that this ship is very potent. Its extremely versatile.
Especially ASW ability is awesome heavyweight torpedoes, two different sonar types and torpedo decoys,RBU but above all 2 heavy ASW helicopters plus a speed in excess of 30 knots making it well suited to high speed tracking of nuke sub,or high speed ocean ASW escort of carrier.
And ofcourse there is brahmos.

Just replace the arm launcher during mid life refit and it would be perfect. The arm launcher is the worst feature on talwar, shivalik and delhi.Good thing delhi and talwar are getting upgraded.

RBU 6000 also has to go .... it is also a bad feature IMO ...... Is there any VLS version of these rockets ??

Look at the below image ..... replacing both the Shtil and RBU with VLS versions will make the deck more clean .

32 knot capable, twin Pielstick power plant + 2 GELM2500 in CODOG giving it 32 knots i s pretty repectable.
Shivalik Class Frigates are known to have huge punch with a 2 units of 4x4 Cell VLS Barak1 (32)+ 6x4 Shtil 32 cell VLS for AD
In addition these guys have the 8 cell Brahmos UVLM capable of supporting - Both KLUB N and Brahmos and most likely will be able to support the Ship launched variant of the Niribhay CM.
Two 533 mm Torp tubes support both SS-N-15 'Starfish' or possibly SS-N-16 'Stallion just like the Delhi class destroyers.
If primarily used in asw role, you might see these armed not with Brahmos but rather 2 versions of Club: AShM and Asroc-like ASW missile. With only 8 cells available however, the most likely pack is simply 8 AShM.

Are you sure? RBU 6000 is one of the few systems that provides an ASW hard kill capability. So it is not just close in anti-sub weapon. In that role, there are gravitational homing variants available. I believe it can also double as launcher for decoys, chaff rounds etc. It can also be used as a shore bombardment system. Reloading is automatic, with individual rounds being fed into the launcher by the 60UP loading system from a below deck magazine. Typical magazine capacity is either 72 or 96 rounds (i.e. 6-8 full reloads) per launcher. It can also be used as a shore bombardment system. What other system offers such flexibility?

Whoa there, what is wrong with RBU 6000, it is a very good system.

Precisely, the barak-1 missile are just point blank air defence missile(10km), not fleet aerial defence missile. The shtil slanted launcher are obsolete system becos it cannot rapid multi engage aerial threats as it need to reposition and loaded before firing another missile. What's worst is , if the slanted launcher is jammed, its end of the story. VLS, even one cell is jammed another takes over and fired.
A single single rail launcher for Shtil has a rate of fire of 1 missile per 12 seconds.

both ships capable of 533mm launched SS-N-15 'Starfish' and SS-N-16 'Stallion' ASW missiles. The UVLM is capable to interchange between Brahmos and Klub-N

With the hopeful arrival of those S70B's these ships would be able to carry independent ASW more efficiently.
Imagine two of those on each ship!

That is terrible compare to VLS :D Not to mention, rail launcher jammed and all the remaining missile can kiss good bye! :D
