Status difference between India & Pakistan - Highlighted by Pak Media

Till 90's Pakistan was ahead of India in almost every aspect.... Yes there was US aid to assist them in this..... But I guess if a nation struggles the blame is on the government and its leaders, People elect them to lead the nation on the right path and path of growth and prosperity..... For that you need a leader or leaders who has long term vision....... I think Pakistan lacked leaders with vision that too long term..... Another important thing is Priority..... For any government the first priority should be well being of its people.....Another Important aspect is "USA".... They may have helped Pakistan in short term..... But in long term they were screwing Pakistan.......

(Note: This is my take on it.... I may be right, or may be wrong)...

When it comes to India we haven't done much either, or we havent grown to the potential we have..... I think the change started in India (also) in 90's and luckily we had MMS... During that period INC was not controlled from 10 japnath....Some of those steps taken during that regime changed the econimics of India... But then the problem india faced was Leadership or lack of it.....Vajpayee was one leader who had vision, But since then We never had any decent leader forget great leader.... One more important aspect was regional parties..... These parties had only one thing in their mind.... that is " Appeasing of their vote banks" They never cared for the nation..... and 10 years of UPA which needed the support of these parties successfully screwed the economy which they themselves have built.... and irony is MMS was the leader of UPA in all this 10 years and the worst part was MMS was controlled by a leader who never wanted to be in politics and lacked knowledge on Indian politics... Heck She was not even an Indian.... There is lot of hope on the new government and its Leader.... I dont see much changes in the policies as the new government is continuing the policies of previous government..... May be the leader has more control and regional parties have no say in it.......

If you ask me, We should stop comparing ourselves (pak vs Ind)..... Instead we should look at the developed nations and learn from them....

Right. But I dont think we can completely rejected UPA1.

10 year is a bit exaggeration. At the time of UPA1 sone how may be luck.we had 8.5 to 9+GDP and liw inflation.
But UPA2 seems the worst in our history.

Why is it most Pak national news channels are in hindi and not english? Most public figures in Pakistan speaks hindi and not english,is there any Pak news channel that is in english, like we have NDTV and Times Now in India.

.
You are quite wrong.
Indians regularly criticize their country, how else do you think we are changing and progressing each decade? Unless we find faults and then talk about them, how will we improve them?

Maybe i have come across the wrong kind of Indians but than again what is that famous quote among Indians:

“You can take an Indian out of India, but you can never take India out of an Indian”

. .
Nothing wrong with the video. India is to be commended on many aspects and there are lessons for Pakistan. We can start with land reforms as a start....

What ??
Still you dont have any land reforms act even after 67 years.
So fuedal issue still in existence.

That quote is absolutely correct my friend . When I was a kid , I used to hate this country and always used to compare it with the facilities of the US of A . I got an opportunity to work in Europe and grabbed it with both hands . Trust me dude it was the biggest blunder of my life . I was always a western kind of guy and hated Indians , maybe I had a very very big ego . After some time I couldn't stop thinking about the unforgettable moments I had in my motherland and nowdays usually land on Terminal 3 , visit crowded areas , have gol gappes (love it ) and take the flight back to Italy or UK .
Eventhough I have left India but I can never stop being an Indian , I guess bollywood also plays a crucial part in binding us all desi's together .

I am surprised you know this statement. Thought it was a private joke sort of a thing between us.

Well the thing is we are in a gutter but we look towards the sky and are slowly getting out. So in public we talk of the good things we have achieved, in private(in-side the country, within our circle) we talk of what remains to be done or what is wrong. Why else do you think an act of rape in Delhi became a point of boiling confrontation between the people and the Government, or corruption became the talking point of an election. If we kept praising ourselves we would have never changed however slightly.

I am personally quite happy, almost every NRI I know continues to try to help India regardless of whichever position they are in - even if its nothing more than talking to other people and praising India which spreads publicity and tourism. If in a higher position they influence their companies to open offices in India and bring investment. If in a position to hire people, they are partial to Indians. At the highest levels they make sure policies designed are favourable to India :)

This is exactly what i was pointing out in my first post in this thread. You guys maybe criticize India within your circle but not in front of the world where the image of your country matters. This is where we lack, in fact we even go as far as to blow it out of proportion. Like i said this is what Pakistani nation need to learn from their eastern neighbour and not how munni badnaam hui.

.
Religion has nothing to do with the situation in Pakistan, a natural disaster combined with war after a war in Afghanistan, the pouring of 3 to 4 million refugees, displacement and expansion of war on terror, are the real factors behind the lagging economy, all of these factors are individually money black-holes, put together they form a huge drain on any economy.
The US with only the war factor has suffered tremendously in its economy. Pakistan to have survived all these factors at the same time is a proof that it is a true strong country.
I am not sure if India or much of other nations would have survived the same simultaneous calamities.

You must know your reasons.

As far as I have understood, Pakistani's do the same wrt to religion. They talk about Islam, praise it in front of others, defend it, help out other coreligionists and stand up for Muslim causes.
Pakistan as a country is lower in priority for you folks compared to religion. So your efforts are geared more towards that.

For us, India is first, religion is second. So our efforts are geared more towards country.

We put efforts in consonance with our priorities. Feel free to correct me if you think I have understood wrong. Just my hypothesis.

There are alot of things where we need to see our neighbor and learn from them. There is no denying or shame in it. That is how nations progress. The one thing i admire about Indians is their nationalism. I have never ever come across any Indian who has spoken against his country. On the contrary you will rarely find any Pakistani who wont speak against his country. Heck people don't even shy away from criticizing the founding father.
Self criticism is how you progress. It is because Pakistanis love their nation and want to see it progress that they criticize it's short coming. You don't innovate, if you think there is no need to bring change.

.
I have never seen bigger patriots than Pakistanis but only when it comes to India but then it takes a back seat when it comes to religion.
This is just my observation from posts that I have read or people I have interacted on only PDF.
