Laws should be simple and clear for people to follow. Not like section this of sub section division this part that of that schedule or as may be prescribed blah blah ............. the mere making the laws complicated is dishonesty on part of the legislators and government.

Agree Law should simple, straightforward and applicable on all. There shouldn't be any exceptions doesn't matter social status and education of person. So, filing tax returns should be mandatory on every adult having CNIC, because the idiotic exception that only people earning taxable income should file return is root cause of tax evasions, the problem is compounded because of cash economy. Tax evaders exploit this exception which is by design is to benefit them.

Getting refunds back from FBR ...... why should government and FBR be allowed to keep taxpayer's money with them for whole year and then make him go through trouble to get the credit for principle amount only?

Yes, Government must not keep taxpayer's money for whole year. That's why I suggest that salaried people who are filing returns should have facility to get the withholding tax adjusted during the year against income tax because they are paying their taxes on monthly basis. Entrepreneurs deposit (hardly they do) their tax at year end, so they already have facility to deduct withholding taxes from income tax and pay balance tax.

When they have taken all these steps in haste without giving it a proper thought ....... why not go for demonetization. Doodh ka doodh pani ka pani ho jy ga. These draconian decisions to crush the middle class and poor when the elites hardly feel any burden should immediately stop.

Sir agriculture isn't some very profitable work unless you own tens of acres and most of Pakistani people related to agriculture are small farmers and Pakistan have only one major industry textile which is related to agriculture and don't try to break the back of agriculture taxing agricultural is like maray huay ko marna
now you would say there are people who own thousands of acres but still they are nothing in front of industrialists
