What's new

Starbucks is coming to Pakistan! Guess which city?

Starbucks coffee is horrible.Don't know how people can stand it. The coffee beans are often burnt, making the taste bitter.

I roast and grind my own coffee, therefore a picky coffee drinker. Sorry!!

Couldnt agree with you more. Its the novelty factor though. Teenagers and young adults especially will go to Starbucks for the "coolness" associated with such an international brand. I doubt many will actually care about the coffee especially since Pakistan traditionally is more of a tea drinking nation, than a coffee one.

There is a Indian coffee brand CCD which is far better then Starbucks... 5 years back when the outlet for starbucks opend in kormangala bangalore.. there was a lot of rush to visit it... now i can see the crowd coming back to CCD

Starbucks is extremely overrated and overpriced. Its too watery and hardly taste like coffee.

Starbucks ...no from me...the worst coffee ever..Wayne's coffee is much better but the best is what one is my self brewed in Moccamaster brewer and I ground beans of Esmeralda Hacienda :) mostly black but sometimes with milk..I like espresso occasionally but it is too strong..i hate de-cafe also.

McDonalds, KFC are literally junk food outlets and no self respecting person goes there except occasionally or in some sort emergency one every other option is not available.

Nothing wrong with that. Starbucks is aspirational brand for millions who enter middle class every year in India. I am geussing it is the same in Pakistan.

The last time I checked, entering a Starbucks to spend money on the coffee, good or bad, was a voluntary activity, all the world over. Jinhaan noo nai pasand, o naa jaavan! :D

If this is actually true, I am NEVER returning to Pakistan. Ill puke the first time I hear some wannabe burger bandi go "Aik Pumpken sapice Frappychino , souy milk, shot of vanilla , sami-decaf with fresh cream... and sweetner"

Definitely will have idiots paying 300rs for a Chai Latte.

Great, now you can pay extortionate prices for what is the coffee equivalent of sacrilege among coffee lovers. Mummy and daddy's boys can hang out drinking overpriced frappuccinos that have as much sugar in them as any given amount of coke. Or make use of the wide variety of flavours and syrups.

Maybe for Pakistan this is okay. But real coffee enthusiasts should steer clear of starbucks, all of their coffee is mediocre and much care that ought to be taken isn't, they mask this with a dark blend so it doesn't feel you're getting screwed over.

Their espressos suck, they're watery and thin, overly bitter, that's because it's produced using a machine, no human input on extraction and grind.

Worst part is, starbucks kills local cafes that actually give a damn about the coffee. Maybe this isn't so true for Pakistan, but I've seen it here.

I hope you will go to Gilgit side its very beautiful if you love Nature , Lakes ,Mountains and Snow :)

Thanks for the suggestion :) I keep hearing that you have some really beautiful beaches. Would definitely like to visit at least one of those.

Easier said than done, plenty of areas I've been around where small local and artisan cafes were killed because a starbucks moved in, locals stuck with no choice but to enter an establishment where they serve mediocre coffee at inflated prices to middle class kids.

LMAO I barely go to Starbucks anymore, but when I used to go on a frequent basis, it sometimes would feel like I'd be standing in line for like 10 minutes or so while someone in front of me would rattle off a 200-word description of the drink they wanted

Prefer turkish coffee.
Once had saudi coffee, doesnt taste like ur usual stuff. Very mild and infact tasted like tea. Had 5 cups :partay:
but then when it kicked in :cheesy::cheesy:

Will anyone believe me when I say I have never ever had Starbucks....and I don't see the point of changing that.

Tim Horton's all the way
