I see no economic activity to pay off the $60 billion in CPEC loans/investment. If there are anything economic about CPEC Karachi would be the focus not Gwadar.

There are no free lunches in geopolitics. Look how India was dumped in its hour of need by America when PLA conquered 1000 sq km of Indian territory. Its all about national interests.

India has been marketed and sponsored by western block as bulwark against Chinese expansion and influence, and India itself has been selling itself as such a client state. With this background, when push came to shove over recent PLA conquering of Indian claimed territory, the western block failed to first notify India of impending PLA ingress, intelligence input non availability and warnings to India by five eyes, secondly, failed to shield India from the embarrassment it received in the aftermath, so much so, that India had to run to Putin Russia to get involved and save its backside.

For an American client state India does not operate any American made tanks, combat aircraft or warships. It is predominantly Russian made. I do not know of any country in the American defense umbrella which meets that criteria
