Sri Lankan monk sets himself ablaze over cow slaughter

*Points at you*

Learn the ways of the majority and respect them... or get thrown out... I guess that makes it simple... you might recall what happened to Tamils who are greater in numbers there than muslims.

@SUPARCO  all @A.Rafay said is OUR GOD IS EVERYWHERE...whats wrong with tht? Is you GOD only in Mekkah? Because ALLAH told us he is everywhere....

Quran surah Al-Hadid Verse 4.

Ma'z Allah, sister Talon. The correct words to be used are "ALLAH can be wherever he wants to be." Must not use the word "is" to describe Him at so and so place otherwise those become the words of profanity.

And for those who know little on the matter... Bull/male Buffalo sacrifice is performed in Hindism.

But It must be done in a single stroke as not to cause any pain to the animal.

Okay .....

Those are not Hindus. Those are criminals. Don't term them(or whoever mentioned them) as Hindus. These kind of people u'll find everywhere, in every religion. But basically they are not of any religion but are menace to the society.

Ur pathetic cause u dont know the Value of Mother ...

My way is Different ... i can take life to Save her... already help running a Gaushala in Navi Mumbai & my Native Village in Pandalam...

Pride of a Mother is more Valuable then ones Life ...

I have never heard of Gaushala in Kerala...............Because when it becomes old its slaughtered..........Then you should kill all the Malayalis...............

Beef is not served in Srilankan & Indian McDonald's ...
But its severed in Pandalam hotels..............

.
I have seen the most undernourished , starving cows in India. They roam the streets in search of food, eat garbage and plastic bags and die. It is more humane to kill and eat them.

.
@DARKY, Would Hindus sacrifice a cow instead of a bull or any other animal?

Is the cow sacred in Budhism too. I am eager to learn about other cultures and religions. Do tell me if it is taboo to slay a cow in Budhism.

I'm not a Buddhist but according to my knowledge.. No it is not but Buddhist philisophy urge it's adherents not to take life or hurt any other living being.. It's not prohobited.. Sacred cows is essencially a Hindu form of belife

I believe this particular monk had another agenda for self immolation.. This is the first instance in Lanka that a monk has tried to set fire on himself..The investigations are continuing

Dont talk nonsense about things you know nothing about.. Ofcause they serve beef in McDonalds in SL.. Seriously some of you Indian posters need to stop blabbering about other countries of you know very little about

Its not about just an animal, its about belief.

If tomorrow say someone goes and releases a pig in a Mosque in Karachi, you ll see how many people will get killed over that. Pigs an animal too right?

P.S: Not trying to offend anyone, just giving an example.

bwahahahah we will kill that piggggg and serve it to those who released it . peeeg is not only an animal but the shyty animal

. .
Its my religious Belief... u have some problem with it Hero...

People who consume Meat dont have any right to Talk about Animal Rights ...

Animal Rights??? the people who consider gao as mata or mother, are doing the following as sacrifice so where is animal rights?

cow is not a holy animal in buddhism. As far as my research goes buddhists of only srilanka stay away from beef as they were hindus before converting to buddhism.buddhists of all other countries eat cow.it is said back in the days of buddha even hindus used to eat cow including buddha himself.

.
So if cow is the mother according to Hinduism then the ox or bulls might be the father.

Right?

.
You can make goat your mother. Hindu do not have problem. Whats seems right and wrong stop when you starting to mock other's religious belief. if you want eat meat. there is hell of thing to eat. Eat and do what ever want to do. but if for your stomach you want to play with others belief then where you stand you can understand yourself.

You have to right impose your nonsense beliefs on others. Nor can you.

Rightly said.

even now in Sri Lanka the hindus observe annual animal sacrifice festival. though such monks have also protested against that and last year it was not observed (if am not wrong)
