my goodness ... Just seen news and read about it on this forum.... We are definitely celebrating it prematurely ... there is no such documented agreement so relax... It is definitely a thing to celebrate if it actually is a thing

what else was so important in Sri Lanka that PM of Pakistan had to go there

Sir plato ( the founder of the democracy ) had written in his book ( the democracy) that should not make trader the Prime minister of the state. He will promote his business as the big leader of the state.Trader is a big risk for the state as Prime minster.

Sri Lanka Air Force today said they were unaware of an agreement signed with Pakistan to purchase eight JF-17 fighter jets.

When contacted by the Daily Mirror, Air Force Group Captain Chandima Alwis said they were not informed of the government’s decision to sign such an agreement.

“From the side of the Air Force Head Quarters, we have not decided as yet. I have not been informed of the matter. It may have been something which took place during government level discussions. I don’t have any information on the matter and cannot confirm it,” he said.

He said the Air Force was reviewing a number of more suitable aircrafts to be purchased and that the Pakistani JF-17 fighter jet was one such fighter jet that was being looked at.

Actually india is in habit of deals like rafael since years or decade, defiantly its unbelievable from their point of view, more over very bitter and poisonous so the response is.

Not at all. It just seems to be a very "Stealthy Deal" for a "Stealth Aircraft". The Aircraft will get bought/sold. How else can the money be raised to buy Su-35s for the PAF?
But F-35s are a 'no-no' for the PAF, write them off as fanboy fantasies.

Right here's the deal, phoned up the Pakistan Embassy in Colombo, obviously found out that most of the staff is accompanying the visiting PM, tried the Sri Lankan Embassy in Islamabad, the concerned defence representative with a rank of Brigadier, I'm told is also away in Colombo. Finally had some luck with Sri Lanka's MOD, a very courteous gentleman would only disclose that he is very much aware of the news, it's being discussed and levelled out between the visiting PM and countries President, until any official notification is made, he was unable to disclose anything.

One side they have the monster who supported insurgency in srilanka in response to docking pakistani war ships during 1971 war, on the other side they have a team which actively helped them to suppress the armed insurgency. Deal is already signed for jf-17 sales to srilanka.
Its a secret deal, so dont expect srilanka to know about it. Even the myanmar didn't knew about this deal. Not even china.
Only pakistan knows about these deals, since they are secret and stealthy deal for stealthy air craft.
