Sri Lanka Defence Thread

I can give a hard kick on your face with my counter argument.
As I have already discussed with more sane people from your country already I am not interested to waste my time on a 'Bigot' like you. Cheers.

Do you actually understand what a bigot is?
I guess nothing left to say? ah? come with a propaganda but with nothing to back his claims.

As usual fled because he cannot defend what he says..actually he doesnt know what he is talking about :)

Pls bring the counter argument and give the hard kick on his face but the counter-counter argument is going to knock you out for sure:azn:
I won't ask him to control his language either because you pretty much asked for it this time

The state of Sri Lanka's defence....

Being Ranil's cousin appears to be a sweet deal for Sri Lanka's State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene Not only did he get his job because of nepotism, he gets to prance off to the Rugby World Cup Finals and then boast about it on his official page. Please do tell us ordinary Sri Lankans how this pertains to Sri Lanka's security? Serious question, because your government is now doing absolutely nothing about the thousands of Indian fishermen poaching with impunity in Sri Lanka's waters. And when you do arrest the odd handful, you release them basically the next day, and even let boat owners cross the Palk Strait from Tamil Nadu and take back their boats free of charge.

Then lets talk about how Ranil is getting ready to release LTTE cadres into society, while setting up a special court to try our soldiers who defeated the LTTE. Not important to you? Doesn't pertain to security? Nothing to do with being the Minister of Defence? We have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you Ruwan.

And Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Harin Fernando... just what exactly does your job entail? What have you done since yahapalanaya came into being besides getting our money and a large pay check? The answer seems to be a big fat nothing, but hey... you enjoy your jaunts around the world, enjoy wasting money and enjoy singing the following to the Sri Lankan people with gusto: Roses are red, violets are blue, I have 5 fingers, the 3rd ones for you.

Why thank you Harin, you're so kind and thoughtful.

A twenty member Sri Lanka Navy diving squad is presently undergoing diving training with the US Navy sailors from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 in Guam (a US island territory in the Western Pacific).

The Sri Lanka Navy said that the Navy divers are undergoing training with the US divers to acquire skills and knowledge required to remove unexploded underwater ordnances left by the LTTE in tanks and lagoons in the North and East.

“The combined military to military Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) training commenced on April 7. The ten day training programme covers a range of theoretical as well as practical applications related to diving operations. The training exposure will help to further build upon the relations and strengthen the diving capabilities.”

During a joint diving exercise conducted as a part of the training on 13th April, US Navy sailors from the EODMU 5, and the Sri Lanka Navy divers dove to the Tokai Maru, a sunken World War II Japanese freighter as a part of a coordinated effort by the Commander, Task Force 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility, it added.

I found this from General Cyril Ranathunga's memoir.

Thought you guys will find it interesting. @Gibbs, @HeinzG @Godman @DarkSeid

"However the highest authorities were not interested. Col.Dharmapala, secretary to the ministry of defence, was of no use. Once I came rushing down to Colombo to brief the secretary to the ministry of defence on some urgent matter and the only response I received , between Col.Dharmapala's cigarette puffs was an indifferent: 'So when are you going back?' Even when he was informed that we had information that 25 LTTE cadres were boldly taking the train from Fort to Talaimannar to take the ferry to India, he took no notice. All he did was puff away on his cigar. I thought that people like this in positions of power SL will have to suffer in future. The first batch of 25 trainees for the LTTE were given training in Himachal Pradesh

yes, but he was not. He was a relative of JR and i dont think even JR knew this incident. May be the general did not think of taking the matter to president
