Lahore: Pakistan’s International umpire Nadeem Ghauri Monday refuted allegations of spot-fixing by Indian TV and said that certain elements in India were using these videos for black-mailing.

According to Indian media reports, a sting operation was carried out in July, August and September ahead of the recently concluded ICC World Cup T20 tournament.

The report said that the six umpires who were exposed in the sting named “Operation World Cup” are: Nadeem Ghauri and Anees Siddiqui of Pakistan, Nadir Shah of Bangaldesh, and Gamini Dissanayake, Maurice Winston and Sagara Gallage of Sri Lanka.

The seventh umpire Sharfudoullah Shahid Saikat of Bangladesh refused to give any favour in lieu of money.

Talking to media, the ICC umpire said that he had not been in the international panel of umpires since two years.

These footages were taken during Sri Lankan Premier League, he said adding that the video clips were tempered.

The umpire further said that he would sue the Indian journalists involved in the fake campaign against him.

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Monday contacted the India TV channel which broadcasted shocking footages of six international umpires involved in match-fixing.

According to Indian media reports, a sting operation was carried out in July, August and September ahead of the recently concluded ICC World Cup T20 tournament.

The report said that the six umpires who were exposed in the sting named “Operation World Cup” are: Nadeem Ghauri and Anees Siddiqui of Pakistan, Nadir Shah of Bangaldesh, and Gamini Dissanayake, Maurice Winston and Sagara Gallage of Sri Lanka.

The seventh umpire Sharfudoullah Shahid Saikat of Bangladesh refused to give any favour in lieu of money.

The ICC spokesman said that the officials contacted the news channel and demanded to handover the evidences gathered by the Indian reporters.

“Umpires allegedly involved in the scandal have not conducted any T20 World Cup match,” the spokesman said adding that the final decision regarding the umpires would be made after thorough investigations.

videos have been uploaded in youtube which clearly shows that the umpires were ready to fix the matches..and btw to all the Pakistanis who have problem with understanding english..the report is not saying anything happened during world t20 or SLPL..only that the umpires were ready to fix for money in those events...
