Spread of Wahhabism was done at request of West during Cold War – Saudi crown prince

This is not an Arab vs Iran problem ..it is a Muslim problem between Sunni and Shia' initiated by the export attempts of the Iranian revolution to neighboring and even far away Muslim countries.. The culprit is clear to see..Iran could have done better keeping its revolution inside its borders.. it genuinely needed it.. but its universal vision to spread it outside made it bad.. because it has created instability instead of progress as it should have been intended..

the conflict has nothing to do with the shia vs sunni debate.

Nothing was worth mentioning between the Arabs and the Iranians before the 1979 revolution in Iran..and the attempts at spreading its ideology in the region and beyond..

you seriously believe that? like if you do please continue cause this is bollocks
pan arab vs pan persian
superiority complex mixed with religious indoctrination on both sides is dangerous.
Iran is not the seat of shia power just like saudi arab is not the seat of sunni power.

now just please fight..........

I said fundamentalism.. since you don't hear the term Wahhabism in KSA..
Arab land belongs to Arab people. We have lot of respect for our Turk brothers, but the point is that Turk captured this land and Arab retook this land from Turks. Due to this reason Turk and Arabs don't like each other.
We have lot of respect for our Muslim brothers in Persia now Iran. Russia is supporter of Iran and USA is supporter of Saudi Arabia. Historically, Persian people don't like Arab people till to date and it continues........vice versa.
Pakistani nation is sandwich and direct victim of these two countries. To support their ideology, they make battle ground in Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen with the help of Russia and USA. Now knowledgeable people in Pakistan (Ulma and Alama) from all school of thought realize this, try to normalize relations between all sects. In rest of the countries, their game is still on.

Religious Cultism have to go to bin if we want to be peaceful prosperous people.
Wahabism is a cancer and may be The Young Crown Prince is realizing mistakes of his forefathers and genuinely wants to reform his country on lines of other modern states. I Wish him Best of Luck if this is his intentions. The Rest of Headless cult of Salafi Extremism will die a slow painful death as next Generations of all these Reactive/Salafist/Wahabis in Muslim World like Egypt, Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh etc will automatically become acceptive and respecting to Other interpretations of Islam by their Fellow Muslims living in their neighborhoods and reject the cancer of self supremacist extremisms.
Next in the line should be Iran. Wilayat e Faqih Cult is not yet as cancerous as salafism i admit but it has every potential to become believe it or not.
We all need to be acceptive open minded Muslims and accept each other as brothers first let alone opening to the world, Muslims who only care for their only faith and afterlife instead of pocking nose in everyone else life and blindly following these so called Molanas (Cult heads) and spread hatred.
Not some Salafi Crackpot who thinks he is the only righteous man on true path and everyone else is a heretic for some reason and deserves hate and wraith of Allah.
Neither a Soldier of Imam(As they call it) who is ready to go and die for any order given by some supreme Mullah because his leader is the guide toward ultimate army of truth and faith who will fight for Imam Akhir ul Zaman. :disagree:
Peace and Harmony to all.

Exactly we should learn from our past and what damage it brought upon us. we need to unite and promote an acceptive peace loving narrative the the whole Muslim world and to the whole world in general instead of these Cultist Hate Filled Ideologies

No such thing as "Arab land" outside of the peninsula most of the Arab "lands" today were Arabised over 100s of years, recent history dictates Turks and westerners ruled Arab lands longer then the history of modern Arab countries. And actually no.... Arabs did not take "their land" back from the Turks, the British, French, Italians did, Arabs were used as pawns like the Kurds of today.

Persian hate Arabs because they were oppressive to them you should read about it, Arabs also hate Persians due to 100s of years under Persian rule prior to Islam, its not just one way.

You can be "just Muslim" if you want, "just Muslim's" are just as dangerous as Salafis/Wahhabis as they think they are the only people who can deduct and understand 100s of years of Islamic text books and history i'm sure you will pass the gates of siraat when you say I am "just Muslim" f@ck all them guys before me who didn't call themselves "Just Muslim".

Just Muslim is the evolution of modern day wahhabism, a new name first it was Wahhabism > Salafism > now Just Muslim. new name, same sh*t.

I wish KSA the best in reforming away from Wahhabism it will be better for countries like Pakistan, Somalia, Afghanistan etc although doubt it will happen, to much extremists if left off the lose can damage their masters.

The Saudi-funded spread of Wahhabism began as a result of Western countries asking Riyadh to help counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told the Washington Post.

Speaking to the paper, bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia's Western allies urged the country to invest in mosques and madrassas overseas during the Cold War, in an effort to prevent encroachment in Muslim countries by the Soviet Union.

He added that successive Saudi governments had lost track of that effort, saying "we have to get it all back." Bin Salman also said that funding now comes mostly from Saudi-based "foundations," rather than from the government.

The crown prince’s 75-minute interview with the Washington Post took place on March 22, the final day of his US tour. Another topic of discussion included a previous claim by US media that bin Salman had said that he had White House senior adviser Jared Kushner "in his pocket."

Bin Salman denied reports that when he and Kushner – who is also Donald Trump's son-in-law – met in Riyadh in October, he had sought or received a greenlight from Kushner for the massive crackdown on alleged corruption which led to widespread arrests in the kingdom shortly afterwards. According to bin Salman, the arrests were a domestic issue and had been in the works for years.

He said it would be "really insane" for him to trade classified information with Kushner, or to try to use him to advance Saudi interests within the Trump administration. He stated that their relationship was within a normal governmental context, but did acknowledge that he and Kushner "work together as friends, more than partners." He stated that he also had good relationships with Vice President Mike Pence and others within the White House.

The crown prince also spoke about the war in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition continues to launch a bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in an attempt to reinstate ousted Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi as president. The conflict has killed thousands, displaced many more, driven the country to the brink of famine, and led to a major cholera outbreak.

Although the coalition has been accused of a large number of civilian deaths and disregard for civilian lives - an accusation which Riyadh denies - the crown prince said his country has not passed up "any opportunity" to improve the humanitarian situation in the country. “There are not good options and bad options. The options are between bad and worse,” he said.

The interview with the crown prince was initially held off the record. However, the Saudi embassy later agreed to led the Washington Post publish specific portions of the meeting.

Why does PDF have so many pakistani isis supporters? o_O

There are no ISIS supporter here. Its only your takfiri mind that automatically believes anyone who is not a grave worshipper is a Wahabi and an ISIS supporter. But I can only speak for myself/ I would choose ISIS over Ayatolla haramis any day

Deobandis are Salafis.

There is no such thing as Wahabbism.

That is an outsider's term.

It just Sunni Islam. The hardcore Sunnis are called Salafis.

Ever been to Saudi Arabia? The Saudis say Wahabbism is an outsider's term.

It is just Sunni Islam.
