What's new

Spread across 4sq km, Gujarat’s GIFT city is all set to generate 400 bn USD revenue.

I SEE 3 BUILDINGS in there.....and thats start of 1st phase of 4 phases.

.
Yes I do. There is no way two towers out in Patelabad can add 400 billion GDP when Bombay is only $300 billion and Delhi $200
Bombay is not an IFSC, it is the financial capital because it has the highest wealth and has India’s largest port located.

GIFT City is a dedicated IFSC smart city dedicated for Fintech, IT, BPO, Tourism etc. Bombay is just a city and has businesses running only, Canary Wharf, Victoria Waterfront, Manhattan, Dubai, Singapore are all generating billions of revenues despite being far smaller than Mumbai because of the difference in economic activities. New Delhi has been cursed with socialist governments and this is why New Delhi never became an Industrial powerhouse and New Delhi NCR took out that oppurtunity. Sheela Dixit for example who were the Chief Minister of Delhi said she would never allow Skyscrapers “due to the risk of Earthquakes as Delhi lies in a Earthquake prone region”, true that but then how is India’s 2nd tallest building built just 10-15km away from Delhi in Delhi NCR (Noida)??? Not just Supertech Supernova there are multiple skyscrapers and highrises in New Delhi NCR, not in New Delhi (because apparantly earthquakes avoid NCR because they love vanilla New Delhi (socialism and lal salaam zindabad).

GIFT City will be a fintech hub and will definitely generate huge sums of revenue, and ya it in future will be expanded as a city never stops growing, so it is stupid to say when GIFT City will be complete as a city never completes, it keeps on growing slowly and slowly.

Let's brag about GIFT fintech hub when it reaches 50B in GDP first. No city gets built in a day. Mumbai is a financial capital cos it has RBI, many bank HQ and most importantly BSE. Hell in Fintech GIFT is nowhere near to Bangalore Chennai or Noida. Give it 25 years and let's see if it moves positively.

Okay so it's 2021 mid now. Did GIFT achieved its 2020 target of $400 billion ??? Btw how many buildings are there now, in 2018 they were 4-5.

.
The Colombo Port City is competing with Gujarat's GIFT city!

It was private estimates, I don’t know exact progress because it is a very big project and there are many things apart from buildings as well.

Yes I know. The integrated system of the city services monitored from a single building is also something commendable.

Lol!!!

India is all about coulda, woulda, shoulda....

And Indian poor masess just loves the bragging, boasting and fake chest thumping by the politicians and media...it's in their genes.

India super power 2020...to super pooper 2021, nobody can beat India in fake chest thumping, they are the world leaders.
It is already operational since first phase was complete, it does not show whole of it as there are many things being focused apart from buildings like maritime cluster or aircraft leasing facilities.

Look at the two lane(one side) roads, what happens if a car stops at the side leaving just one lane operational. Also buffaloes leisurely walking at the roads, and have seen these two completed blgs since last 8 years I guess, in Modi first tenure.

Looks like another ill planned ambitious project like Dholera and Lavasa...the thing is without the private sector participation any project to take shape is an uphill task....

This is not a so called smart city near Karachi, about 25 kms away...Bahria Town, Karachi....there were issues and Bahria Town is payng the money to SC to settle the issue...and the construction is going well.

Bahria means Navy, so it is more of a private township with the ashirwaad of the establishment, and GIFT has many more things under implementation like a maritime cluster, and aircraft leasing facility, or the waterfront development on the river.
I am a Communist. What is your issue with Socialism and Communism ?

Communist USSR was an industrial powerhouse.
Dude, I don’t like communism and socialism, for me free market capitalism is what is good and can remove poverty from the world, you just can’t simply multiply wealth by dividing it.

Nothing to do with Navy and Bahria, Bahria is a generic name not owned by Pakistan navy. There was a case filed and Navy lost the case...its all private sector development with similar Bahria Towns near Lahore and Islamabad...took away lost of pressure from housing shortages.

Bahria Town, Islamabad, Rwp.

These are townships not some IFSCs.

Even New Delhi’s NCR is an economic hub.
