Spain Accused of ‘Outrageous’ Violation of British Sovereignty ... !

The Spanish hypocrisy is always exposed by their occupation of Ceuta and Melilla. If they care so much about territorial contiguity and removal of colonial legacies then first get out of these two enclaves that are surrounded by Morocco on all sides except the sea and where Arabs/Berbers make up almost or maybe even more than 50% of the population. In contrast Spaniards make up a negligible proportion of the Gibraltarian populace.

2 different issues.

The arabs occupied Spanish territory for 800 years, now Spain has been occupying those 2 enclaves which happen to be Spanish territory inhabited by Spanish citizens, not colonies, for 500 years. We still have another 300 years to go before we get even with the arabs.

In contrast Spaniards make up a negligible proportion of the Gibraltarian populace.

Of course, they were all removed by force.

Spanish people are unaware of how big are the dangers of Gibraltar and Rota USA naval base, both in Cadiz Spain province. Mass media in Spain never speaks about the dangers of Nuclear subs in Gibraltar or USA anti missile shield in Rota.

Cadiz is the most impoverished Spanish province, and that is not a coincidence.

The most important issue of Gibraltar is the military. Personally I see as meaningless the historic or nationalist issue about Gibraltar.

Gibraltar could be the new base for Trident | Daily Mail Online

I don't care about Utrecht treaty, what it matters is the dangers of be a nuclear target if USA starts a big war (very likely nowadays).

That's very true. That's always a risk, a deadly risk.

I'll be visiting Gibraltar soon, to see how my colleagues teach in local schools. I can't wait.

Trident is directed against Russia. Why on earth would we choose to put it in the Mediterranean rather than the North Sea where we keep it?

First falklands now this one. British still have the colonial mindset , they could gracefully give the rocky tip back to spain and earn some respect.
Please, don't comment on anything you know nothing about.

Inhabitants on both these places; overwhelmly support UK and wish to remain part of UK. If it was about colonial mindset, then Britain wouldn't have done a referendum for Scottish independence on their very own British isles.

Scottish referendum was a calculated risk and heavens would not have fallen if scots had voted for independence. Why not do the same thing in northern ireland ? The idea planting your own ppl and then claiming support looks ridiculous.
Ever heard of diego garcia? Diego Garcia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to estimstes , there are about 4000 U.S and British military personnel(Including contractors). However the exact number of each is unknown, as our forces/governemnt both keep the base off limits to any outsiders be it journalists tourists or whatever. There are no natives on the islsnds nymore unfortunately, as our governement all deported them to sychelles and mauritius, its for their own security though, as we use the base exclusively as a military outpost.:)

I hope india is not worried about our presence/patrols in the area? Just for world peace and stability you know.;)
Now enjoy the indian ocean and eat Indian food, we can sacrifice that much for world peace until you guys do naughty things .:toast_sign:
