Some Interesting Books --- Worth Reading! !

. . .

I would largely agree with it. The institution of marriage and female chastity declining in the western world closely correlates with giving the women the right to vote, their so called "sexual revolution" and really in many ways provided a large basis for the rise of socialist-based authoritarianism (which often favours the destruction of the family unit long term so as to ensure complete reliance/subservience on the state from birth to death) and other destructive phenomenon to civilisation.

Whether this is naturally inevitable (simply a manifestation of universal entropy) or purely forced by an elite (or some combination of both) w.r.t the decline of previous social fabrics like religion, culture etc and replacement of those with materialism, science...and what the exact equilibirums reached will be (probably dependent on each society's particular preference for individualism compared to collectivism) is another interesting debate.

Whats important is that people are made aware of all the arguments, presented with all the evidence so there is little recourse for the masses to say they were oblivious and deluded (the sheeple as I call them now)....so they fully own what ends up happening long term. But then who really thinks about descendents way in the future (like say 5 - 10 generations from now)....where the real multiplier effect of what we do today will probably have maximum effect on the ground? We are overall quite fickle, transient and impulsive beings. I honestly have lost a lot of hope in humanity since peaking somewhere in my teens....but now my solace is in the end, w.r.t the universe, it (humanity's fate) probably matters as much as knowing the exact number of asteroids orbiting the sun.

Well put. I believe it is a combination of those two factors you mentioned. Feminism and other social revolutions of our modern times have only contributed towards the atomization of society (this is particularly true in the West but its spreading to the Eastern countries too). Feminism has destroyed traditional marriage. An atomized society benefits the consumerist culture that has come about within the last 70 years and the only one's benefiting from this are the big multi-billion dollar multi-national corporations. Also, an atomized society is less likely to politically organize against any kind of tyranny due to breakdown of strong tribal connections which characterized societies of old. For example, look at how easy it is to prosecute and crackdown on genuine political dissent in certain Western countries like Sweden and Germany for "hate speech" and "thought crimes" and no one will bat an eyelid because no one simply cares or people are just powerless to do anything. They no longer have the family connections of old to fall back on. Big brother government is all they have, and their consumerist culture. Often times allot of lefties use Marx's quote where he describes religion as the "opiate of the masses", but today this is true for the consumerist culture. People spend and spend on useless things as a way to escape the reality they live in.

But certainly allot of unintentional factors have contributed to this as well like the progression in science and technology but these have only been used as a tool to destroy traditional societies rather than further their existence. It doesn't have to be that a society that advances in science and technology must therefore shed all of the beneficial elements of old traditional culture in order to "progress". This was the view held by Fascism & National Socialism. Technology and scientific advancement was only seen as a means to an end and not the end in itself. The end being towards the preservation and advancement of the most creative and noble elements of society. We have only been told to believe that its the exact opposite; that technological advancement is an end in itself.

True, but most people will not look into this stuff for various obvious reasons. This is especially true in fast paced consumerist societies where everyone has a nihilistic outlook on life. No one cares anymore about the consequences of their actions upon future generations. It's all about the here and now.

Damn i though it would be a read on military or other history but it was a good and interesting read.

Good :enjoy: btw why i never see you in indo/pak, Pak economy or Pak politics threads? :P
Well tbqh this forum isn't the best place to express certain opinions not in agreement with the views of the mods/admins. For example one of my threads which was about Chinese flooding Pakistani markets with cheap goods and destroying the local industries was deleted. I was never given a reason why.

I believe this is one of the major short comings of this forum that certain views which the mods/admins do not approve of get shut down. This ruins any chance for constructive discourse.

Though despite that I still chime in on Pakistani social/political and economic issues now and then but lately I've been busy so haven't been on much at all.

Our rulers will sell this country to the highest bidder, be it the Americans, Chinese or the Saudis. They do not possess any intellect, honor, courage and foresight whatsoever. The masses are proving to be pretty easy to fool for them. People will only realize when it will be too late. People think that China is their chum but they are unaware of the fact that how this business minded nation has been exploiting the natural resources of many African countries...

I read this a few years ago, a very detailed account of the Afghan war
