What's new

So who are we voting for?

I am certainly not going to vote for PML q.

My choice is PML (N) LION.

More importantly I and my family have always voted the RIGHT WING CONS parties.

So I wont vote PML(Q) because of the latest crisis of
FLOUR,Lal Masjid,Suicide bombings,FATA problem,Emergency,deposing of judges,steel mill scandal, corruption e.etc

Not PPP as it is a secular party.

So LION is my vote.

Specially in Multan ,Makhdoom Javed Hashmi is contesting who is a respectable politician and not a FEUDAL he has a middle class back ground and was a student leader and has also endured Jails.

. .
You are Peshawar, NA-1 right? Thats going ANP last I checked which is surprising since its a Persian speaking area.

Yes my vote falls in NA-I Peshawar.

The candidates in NA-1 are

1. Bashir Bilour of ANP
2. Aftab Sherpao of PPP-S
3. Ayub Shah of PPP.

Now if at all i had to go for vote then i will vote for Sherpao (former interior minister) as i dont want that criminal zardari as PM of my great nation.

Here is the party manifesto of the PML-Q:

PML,Pakistan Muslim League Official Website, Manifesto of Pakistan Muslim League News, Articles, Messages, Profile, manifesto, PML, Muslim League, Chaudary Shujaat Hussain, Ch. Pervaiz Ellahi, Syed Mushaid Hussain

Very impressive. Closest to the Quaids vision among all the parties. The PPP is a socialist party and the PML-N is dangerously close to the mullahs.

I think the track record of the PML-Q during the last few years speaks for itself.

One more very intersting point about PML-Q, from their manifesto:

The PML will endeavour to provide the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis and the Party will propose a Constitutional amendment to provide for representation for overseas Pakistanis in the Pakistan Parliament.

.
I think the track record of the PML-Q during the last few years speaks for itself.
Unfortunately in Pakistan some people are deaf & Blind they cannot see & hear what PML-Q has done for them.
But they will pay for there mistake if they vote to anyone else.

Yes, even back in Nawaz's time when there was only 1 PML this party did most of it's good work in Punjab. I think this time whoever wins the government needs to work the most in BALOCHISTAN, followed by FATA and northern areas, then other more developed areas of the country.

I think the politicians shouldn't try to make their own constituency happy, the should rather work for whichever area needs the most help.

Dear Members,
I have a problem whom should I vote? Not a single party is qualifying to my merit. Really confused what to do tomorrow. :undecided:

.
Are you registered to vote? If so, even then you should not be asking for other people to tell you who to vote for but if you want my advice vote for PML-Q, which is Mushys party plus it has done great work in the last 4-5 years.

.
I second Solid snake.

and if in your area PML-Q has not fielded its candidate then go for someone that even if not wins should also not benefit that choora zardari or gunja :D

Support for Islamist parties wanes(AFP)

17 February 2008

PESHAWAR - Maulana Abdul Jalil Jan trudges from door to door in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, trying to canvass votes for the hardline Islamist party he is standing for in Monday’s election.

“I wake up very early in the morning and start interacting with people immediately after saying my prayers, and this continues until midnight,” the 49-year-old told AFP.

But Jan’s stubborn pounding of the campaign trail may prove fruitless.

Support for the hardliners such as the Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) party he represents is dwindling in this conservative city on the edge of Pakistan’s troubled tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.

Since voting the Islamists to power in North West Frontier Province in the last elections in 2002, people say they have seen few improvements in their lives and instead are living in fear of spiralling bomb attacks, which have been blamed on Al Qaeda and the Taleban.

Two separate suicide attacks in the region on Saturday killed 39 people and injured nearly 100, increasing security fears with days to go until elections.

“I will never vote for JUI or any other religious parties again because they failed to deliver the goods and provide protection to people,” said Abdul Ghaffar, who sells Pakistan’s roti bread, after Jan left his shop.

Local resident Zahid Khan was also critical of the Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Islamist alliance, which has governed the conservative province for five years. JUI is one of the main parties in the MMA.

“They simply disappeared from the area after elections and remained inaccessible for five years. Now this time around, I will vote for Benazir Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party,” Khan said.

Pakistan is a vital US ally in the fight against Al Qaeda and Taleban extremism, and there is concern in the United States that if fundamentalists were to have a strong showing in parliament, it may upset this alliance.

Analysts, however, have predicted that the Islamic parties will not do well on Monday, partly because they have become increasingly fragmented.

JUI is the only major party in the MMA alliance that is contesting the polls after their main partner Jamaat-i-Islami boycotted the vote.

Other people are simply finding that the conservative outlook of the religious parties does not fit with their everyday lives.

Well I know that there are some people who are Musharraf lovers.

Most of them are either EXPATRIATES.

OR
Those who are beneficiaries of Musharraf like those in Armed forces or their kins.

But let me tell you the place where I live I have not heard of even a single person who is going to vote for Q league.

It is going to Loose badly .Even the surveys of GALLOP and IRI show that and all the Political Pundits see PML N and PPP forming majority if polls are not rigged.
IRI survey showed that only 16 % people support PML Q ...
While 80% want Musharraf to RESIGN.

Though I admire PML Qs first 4 years. The last year 2007 was the WORST IN PAKISTANS HISTORY after 1971.

That is all that matters.
PML Q has not performed very badly in first 4 years by the last year was :hitwall:

In the last year of Musharraf people had to face.

Sugar crisis.
flour crisis.
Gas shortage.
Electricity shortage.
Judiciary problem.
Missing persons.
Lal Masjid issue.
Suicide bombings.

All these things make an ORDINARY POOR MAN EXTREMELY HATEFUL OF PMLQ

In my city Multan .Even in the last election PML Q only won 2 NA out of 6.

Now when there is BBs assassination sympathy.
and return of Nawaz Shariff.
I dont see PML Q getting more than 1 out of 6 NA seats here.
specially in the presence of likes of Javed Hashmi,Yousaf raza Gillani,Makhdoom shah Mehmood Qureshi.

.
In the last year of Musharraf people had to face.

flour crisis:
Sugar crisis:
These cricis are part of life they come & go according to time, bcoz theya re not dependent on human but on nature factor.

Gas shortage:
What can gov do when our own gas resources are going towards end, we are trying to cover it up by Iran GPL.

Electricity shortage.
Since no construction of majr Dams & Thermal & Hydral rojects in 1988-1998 we are having these problems. but now Dams are being built.

Judiciary problem.
There is no Such problem exists in real, some Lawyers who have nothing to do are streaching it.

Missing persons.
These are all terrorists, we have seen the reward of letting some of them go( Suicide bimbing etc)

Lal Masjid issue.
Was that an Disputed issue?? i dont think so.

Suicide bombings.
Due to your so call CJ orders, who freed the men caught by ISI.

& i am neither in Army or any Gov institute but a Simple Student living in Lahore,
I Favour them bcoz, What is Right is Right.
