Actually Indonesia has also been developing new fighter with South Korea that inshaALLAH will be produced around 2020's. For the mean time , while waiting for that, we just add more refurbished F-16 C/D as it can be acquired cheaper with quite latest technology. For your information, USA also offers another 10 refurbished F-16 to Indonesia that we havent decided yet weather to take it or not. This acquisition can serve as a cheaper and effective transition program before we can induct our own jet fighter into our Air force, inshaALLAH.

For MBT, we also have refurbished Leopard from Germany that are taken in a very good price. And beside that, we are still lack in IFV/AFV, MLRS, light tanks, helicopter, and even rockets which is very important in our defense strategy. I believe we should prioritize this one first, in term of pouring money into our Army . For fulfilling those needs, we have our own product (PT Pindad made), and for light tank there is a project, undergoing, to make light tank that is suited to our needs, we are cooperating with Turkey for the this one.

Not a single Merkava was destroyed by RPG in Lebanon.

In Gaza and West Bank Merkava's were attacked by RPGs for decade and never were even seriously damaged.

Hezbollah is not rag tag. They are much better trained and equipped than third world armies. They had hundreds of modern ATGMs in well fortified bunkers and hundreds of IEDs, while Israeli tanks acted heavy mountain terrain.
