Whatever the case learn from our experiences. Defence equipment bring unnecessary strain on economy and development of a nation.

Far East is the only Muslim region which is peaceful and growing and that must be kept safe from these Westerners and their interests. They just want to create hostilities and trigger an arms race.

I will advice the Indonesian Friends to be careful in this and think for the peace of the region and be patient with Singapore and make them realize that they are wrong.

Peace through fire power, all of ASEAN leaders believe at that premises, when Indonesia neglect to build their military credence shit happen like in 1998-2004 period. You can see when Thailand and Vietnam continuously build up their military prowess they can keep the largely peace conditions set up in Indochina, even the tiny cambodja have more fire power than one of the largest country in Africa such as Nigeria and South Africa.

all that glitters are not Gold! The countries which u mentioned in Far East or ASEAN are the neighbors of china and the westerners want to use them against Chinese. But those countries are not as developed or developing as Far Eastern countries like Indonesia, malaysia and Singapore! only Thailand comes near but after military take over and the arms race its economy is not as strong as should be.

Nigeria is africa's largest oil producer it has economy which is one of the mightiest in Africa but still is one of the most poorest countries of africa! These Boko Harm and rubbish is western motivated,funded and trained organization. And its not something new they always target the oil rich countries for their own gains. Remember that The best weapon of defence in this 21st century warfare is yr economy and propaganda or media! The more prosperous u will be as a country and region where u lie in, the more threats u will repel either knowingly or unknowingly.

Learn from our Example and look upto China and her policies its the best guide of success in these times.

Surely we need more capable fighter, but unless Chinese using the JF-17, we are not see the reasons to made a move for JF-17. For Al-Khalid, we would prefer to add more Leos or going for Abrams instead

I doubt the Singaporeans view Indonesia as a threat; i would say Malaysia is seen more as a threat than Indonesia considering the fact that Malaysia practically controls the water input into Singapore. Lastly, as an island state, Singapore's navy must be one of the best or the best -- to protect the trade that traverses the Straits of Malaccas.

Realistically tho, Singapore has no 'enemies'.

Chinese won't induct JF-17, it doesn't fit their doctrine...
