In Botswana they have clamped down hard. Easy 20 yrs behind bars but you can shoot in farm area but nowhere else are u permitted. Only shooting there is with a photo lens.

It is so so stupid to see overseas hunters come with massive scope rifles and they dont even bother to walk.

In South Africa, hunting is a big industry on game farms; but not on wild conservation areas.

It makes me real mad to see poaching of elephants and rhinos because of Asian demand; it is just shocking that chinese and asians have no respect for nature - if you cant get it up - just get viagara; leave poor rhinos alone or like a good old risque cartoon locally says 'blixem vir jou ek sal jump start' - difficult to translate the woman says damn on you for not not being able to get it up; she attaches cables from truck battery and says i will jump start it .

All though it is very deplorable but many people don't realize this that trophy hunting of these Markhors has actually increased their number. Prior to this even locals would kill these animals for meat and other stuff but now since licenses are sold and good chunk of this money goes directly to local people, so they make sure these animals remain safe and their population increases because their bread and butter is dependent on these.

Anyways certainly this is a sick sport but I use to think the same way but the only way to keep their population safe or to increase is via this trophy hunting method.
