Should Punjab be broken up into smaller states?

Yes, I'm looking at India as an example here.

India's Erstwhile Punjab was much bigger than the Punjab in Pak.

Dividing a state does not always make it better - While Haryana has flourished Jharkhand & Chattigarh have not performed as expected.

Simple Answer ”No”. It is due to incompetency of the Govt. they cannot handle or do anything. Breaking Provinces into small Provinces is not a solution, it is the administration’s fault that they have completely failed to deliver. Keep this in your mind if small Provinces are made there will only be more corruption & more hatred nothing else.

In China three people start digging in the mountain to make way for transport & they finished the job in a month (This is a true story). If these people can work hard & dig through the mountains to make way for transport, to help people then seriously something is wrong with the people of Pakistan who can’t handle one Province & they put the blame that the Province is too big or etc.

These people are incompetent they can’t work, they only want to do this so that corruption can be done. A very simple Question to you all Pakistani’s, how many Ministers do we have in each Province & how many more will come if more Provinces are made, just think. People of Pakistan will only pay & they will be paying from their pockets for these spineless, corrupt & incompetent Ministers, Governors & Politicians. There will only be destruction in Pakistan because there is no strong & honest administration.

its not always like that,breaking an state makes extra burden on Administration.If a state is too large,then its ok to break it for better governance,else..leave it as it is.

Breaking up provinces does not necessarily guarantee anything.

What it does guarantee is better prospects for :

Politicians - More Governors, Chief Ministers etc

Police ; More vacancies for IGs downwards - enhanced promotion prospects

Bureaucrats : More vacancies for Secretaries and all down the line

Contractors : New assemblies, secretariats, housing for the big wigs

In short other than the well being of the common man every thing else is assured.

i heard about Sindh also, will they do? as, the most troubling state of Pakistan is now Sindh, due to Karachi, where the scores are more than total US's Drones scores in whole Pakistan?

I think, karachi may be left for the Muhajir community and then it would be all ok, i guess .....

Smaller states ensure that the local population get their due. Often in larger states there are some areas which are neglected because they do not contribute much to any ruling party. The people out there live in complete shadow. Jharkhand may not be doing as well as other smaller states but they are doing better than earlier.

not only Punjab but sind, Baluchistan and KPK should be divided into smaller provinces.
just having Sariaki province so Gilani Family can be the chief minister will be a big mistake, what we are getting is another province with not much in revenues.

dividing is not a solution for any incompetency. Better governance can assure good results. Whether it's small province of bigger. If Small province was the solution then we would have seen financial tycons in KPK.

From my pov, provinces should be dissolved completely. And city government structure should introduce. Where each mayor/Nazim should be accountable for his city.
