Pakistan has received highest clearance for Chinese arms sales and continues to do so.

Frontline fighter, AScMs, AWACs, Frigates, and SSKs, are just a few things China helps Pakistan with.

However 4th gen fighters now and in a few years will not be enough to maintain balance in the region.

Pakistan must have a fifth gen fighter in order to stay competitive.

Argue for why China should or should not sell fifth gen fighters to Pakistan and if we should when after it comes out.

Try the poll not meant to be forceful;)

.
Personally I believe it should be exported when China is well into research of 6th gen fighters.

Any thoughts?

So in another word, you are against exporting this plane to Pakistan anytime soon.

Pretty much.

But I would be surprised if its exported it all.

J-20 would be a matter of national security.

Whats your opinion?

As long as the US doesn't freak out about it, we're fine.

However, due to budgets, I would personally recommend Pakistan to purchase a cheaper alternative like J-16, JH-7B, or the J-11B/S.

However, due to the single engine doctrine, the most suitable aircraft would be a stealth version of the JF-17.

If thats the case I think a steathified J10 would be better. It has a larger airframe and much stronger engine. Internal stores add a lot of weight.

well pakistan dnt need a 5thgen before 2020.

we should think about J-20 or anyother 5th gen fighter after 2020.

bt i think pakistan will start thinking about something against indian 5th gen even by 2015

That would be the J-10B. :)

There's a twin engine variant called the J-10C which, according to news, was simulated by PLAAF in 2009, but so far the PLAAF has not confirmed it yet

I thought J-20 would be a stealthier version of J-10. I know both are totally different planes. But if I can imagine that J-20 was created out of J-10 as the primary inspiration. In addition to other planes out there.h

Without internal stores, fixed canards, and RAM the J10B currently is not very stealthy at all.

Who else do you think you can get it from?

Then you are looking at the J-10C, which was reported by Chinese media and Russian newspaper Izvestia to be tested in 2009

J-10B does have RAM

. . .
It depends on how much money China is willing to lose, because there's no way in hell that the PAF can afford to operate 5th gen fighters.

Personally, if I were PAF chief, I would just go for advanced SAMs.
