Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi has filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court on Monday and sought a ban on green flags with crescent and star that resembles national flag of Pakistan. The Supreme Court bench consisting of Justices A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan while going through the PIL has sought a reply from the Centre. Rizvi in the PIL has also stated that the Green Flag creates communal strife when hoisted in Muslim areas.
