When you guys can not remain united in Pakistan or any of the Islamic Nation, How do you expect Indian Muslims to remain united as one block. Don't shias understand that they face greater threat from Sunnis compared to Hindus? Your basic postulate of using religion as the block of political power is wrong and against the basic principle of democracy.

I heard Ziaul Haq promoted Sipah e Sahaba to control Pakistan's Shia after Iranian revolution. And this Shia-Sunni thing in Kashmir is because Sunni supremacist nature of militants in Kashmir inspired by wahabbi ideology prevalent among extremist groups in Pakistan.

Um..in case you did not know..

- Shias support BJP in India.
- Not only that Shias of Kashmir are integral in supporting Indian Army there. The bedrock of Indian intelligence network in Kashmir is based on Shias there.
- Shias overwhelmingly voted for Modi this time
- Shias are also far more educated and have lower unemployement rate than Sunnis. Consequently they are far less prone to the 'jihad urges' that affects Sunnis regularly.
- Resultant point is that Shias are more integrated in India than Sunnis

Stop this fooling.Forget Kashmir,infact there is more Sunni Shia voilence In Pakistan then India or Bangladesh.Sectarian violence persists to this day from Pakistan to Yemen. The Shia Sunni..Conflict dates back to Prophet Muhammad's death 1,300 years ago.

One dead as Shia protest in Lucknow turns violent, cleric blames Azam Khan

Lucknow: One person died and several others were injured when a protest by members of Shia community headed towards the house of Uttar Pradesh Waqf Minister Mohd Azam Khan turned violent on Friday.
The protesters were lathicharged by police as they were marching to gherao Azam Khan's house over the alleged move to appoint "corrupt persons" to the Shia Central Board in the state.

After 'Alvida Namaz', a procession, led by prominent Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, was taken out here to gherao Azam's residence, but police put up barricades near Shaheed Smarak to stop them.

When the protesters attempted to force their way and march ahead, they were lathicharged by police.

Reacting strongly to the police action, Maulana Jawwad said the procession was being taken out peacefully, but "on the directive of Azam, police lathicharged people observing roza (fast) in which several persons, including elderly and children were injured".

“But we will keep protesting against Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav and the lawlessness. We will court arrest in protest,” added Jawwad.

The Maulana alleged that the election of Shia Central Waqf Board are scheduled soon and Azam intends to appoint people who intend to loot Waqf properties, to important posts.

Later, agitated with police action, the cleric sat on dharna in front of Shaheed Smarak, demanding that he should either be allowed to move ahead to Azam's house or be arrested.

Maulana Jawwad said SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav considered Azam as a big leader of Muslims, but in reality, the debacle the party faced in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections was due to the minister.

He also said that the party would not have won the five seats it got if the election commission had not banned Azam during the polls.

Shia cleric seeks Azam Khan's dismissal

LUCKNOW: Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad met governor Ram Naik here on Sunday and requested him to sack minister for minority welfare Mohd Azam Khan, whom he held responsible for the police canecharge on Shia procession which was taken out after Alvida namaz on Friday demanding arrest of all those persons booked by CB-CID in the 2012 Shia Wakf Board corruption case.

Jawwad handed over a memorandum of his demands to the governor. The cleric sought the governor's intervention in the case accusing Azam Khan of trying to reinstate corrupt elements in the Wakf Board. He has also asked the governor to communicate sentiments of the Shia community to the President

Pranab Mukherjee informing him that Khan's conduct has not been as per the Constitutional norms.


Later, addressing mediapersons the cleric said that Shias were taking out a peaceful protest on Friday when police stopped them near Shaheed Smarak and cane charged them. He alleged that the police action was pre-planned and it was done at the behest of Azam Khan.

"All agitations led by me in the past have always been peaceful and without any violence but this time some policemen in plain clothes started pelting stones which led to angry retaliation by the agitators", he alleged. He has demanded immediate sacking of district magistrate and police chief of Lucknow for ordering cane charge on the processionists in which one person died and several persons got injured.

He said that he along with other members of the Shia community were fighting to save the Shia wakf properties and have demanded arrest of those persons who have been named in the FIR on charges of corruption by the CB-CID in 2012.

He said that he has given a day's time to the state government for the arrest of all persons named in the FIR by the CB-CID, failing which Shias would lay siege of Azam Khan's house in Lucknow and hold demonstrations outside SP offices all over the state.

Racting to the Shia cleric's allegations and protests, Azam Khan told reporters in Rampur that anyone attempting to take law in his own hands shall be dealt with firmly.

Meanwhile, litterrateur Ishrat Rizvi Lakhnavi has refused to take award from the Urdu Academy in protest against the canecharge made on the processionists .
