I found some thing interesting,

In his dying regrets Sher Shah confessed,

… I have three of four desires in my heart which will remain without accomplishment , and can not be eradicated except by death. One is, I wished to have depopulated the country of Roh, and to have transferred its inhabitants to the tract between the Nilab and Lahore, including the hills below Ninduna, as far as the Siwalik; that they might have been constantly on the alert for the arrival of the Mughals, and not allow anyone to pass from Kabul to Hind, and that they might also keep the zamindars of the hills under control and subjection......... Another is to have entirely destroyed Lahore, that so large a city might not exist on the very road of an invader, where immediately after capturing it on his arrival, he (Mughal leader) could collect his supplies…. Another is, to have built two fleets of fifty large vassals each, as commodious as sarias for the use of pilgrims from India to Mecca.....the last is ,to have raised a tomb to Ibrahim Lodi in Panipat , but on the understanding that opposite to it there should be another tomb of the Chaughtai Sultans, whom i have may have dispatched to martyrdom;....

(The History of India as told by its Own Historians, vol. 5, Tarikh-i-Jahan Lodhi, p. 108)

It is interesting to note that Mughal forces under humayun, to take back India in 1555, swept through Punjab between Nilab and lahore without opposition and he indeed gathered supplies from Lahore and his army rested there , after which Humayun met Sikander Shah Suri, one of the claimant of throne, on field. The present day Pakistani Punjab didnt act as barrier from invasions for Delhi Sultans since very early Mongol invasions and Sher Shah had the idea of ethnic transplanting to deal with the issue, by populating it with his warrior kinsmen who had the culture of fighting invaders. Why he didnt have the confidence of capturing Pakhtun belt and make it border for his empire instead of Punjab?. At Khushab, he invited tribal leaders from Roh (Pakhtunkhwa) to meet him, none came. The most powerful chief, Gaju Khan of Yousafzais, refused to swear allegiance to Sher Shah and was in mood of opposing his advances. Another powerful tribe Ghoria Khels (Khalils, Daudzais, Mohamands, chamkanis etc) were allied with Kamran Mirza , son of Mughal emperor Babur and ruler of Kabul (they fought against Humayun for kamran) . Sher Shah wisely avoided the troublesome belt and didnt advance beyond river Indus.Previous to him , Bahlol had Lodi had sent letters to tribes of Roh, to come to India and support his empire , it is said they swarmed into India like locusts. It seems Sher Shah had same Idea but more focal, instead of entire India, the plan was to settle them in Punjab for strategic reasons.

Ok Nilab is indus, roh seem to be Peshawar area? Lahore is Lahore. But Ninduna hills and sawalik?

who give a **** to sher shah or kuta shah today
You should say thanks to Allah because if Sher Shah had lived longer, there would have been no Pakistani Punjab today..........Russia changed the demographics of many regions by same ethnic transplantation.......Pakhtunkhwa or Afghanistan would have been bordering Wahga with India. His intentions were not evil, at that time Punjab was Hindu majority and he was planning to settle musalman inhabitants of his qaum purely for defense strategic purposes. Which also means there would have been no Baloch presence in South Punjab. Sher Shah's general haibat Khan drove away Balochs from Multan province to restore peace. Their leader Madu baloch was captured and hanged

I am wondering the same, i am not aware of the specific hills but it seems he is talking about hills in punjab adjacent to Kashmir of hamaliyan range, probably in present day east Punjab.

I think this is just a brain fart , one piece of information seems incorrect , which is about the destruction of Lahore.

Sher Shah Suri built the Grand Trunk Road , whose route is as follows:

If he had such wish to destroy Lahore that he took it to is his grave , then why in his lifetime he built the road going via Lahore

The living work of Sher Shah Suri , which is the Grand Trunk Road , does not corroborate with the claim of the OP

Dr.Qanungo, the historian who did famous research on Sher Shah, refutes this four wishes of him, claimed in the book authored by Abbas Sherwani who wrote "Tarikh-i-SherShahi"......i have forgotten the arguments he presented , but according to him Abbas Sherwani didnt give the reference from where and from whom he had heard these dying wishes of Sher Shah and that it is in total contrast to Sher Shah's personality to come up with such plans.......

Being a pathan you hate Sher Shah?
Not every one with Khan surname is "Pathan". The ancestors of Imran Khan, the member here, claims to be Seraiki Baloch from Punjab..................many such "Khans" in Punjab are actually converts from low castes of Hindus and belong to Karigar/kammi class

He wanted to settle his kinsmen in Punjab and hills of Nandana because he knew his kinsmen would support him over Hamayun if he managed to cross Khyber Pass. The salt range region(Nandana here) was already in open rebellion against Sher Shah Suri in favour of Hamayun. Nilab is near modern day Indus in Attock I think.

As for Khan Kanju, he appears to be a mythified figure rather than factual for his existence is only in oral history I think. Their oral historians made Khan Kanju even an overlord of Adam Khan, the leader of Gakhars, which is laughable at best as no other source mentions such a relationship. The only lord Gakhars served was the king of Persia, at whose behest they had even started a rebellion against Sher Shah. Gakhars are Persians by ancestry and hence they were loyalists of the king of Persia.

I believe it's Pathan.:coffee:
What is the origin and meaning of this word Khocha?.......I see this word used in Pathan jokes in urdu, the clown pathan in the jokes say khocha word in the start of sentence. In Indian comedian shows, when some times Pathan character is depicted , they use this word khocha.........
