People have more affinity to Indians than Pakistanis (be it Bollywood, Cricket/IPL, Bengalis in WB, same culture or whatever...). Other than being fellow Muslims, not many Bangladeshis feel any commonality with Pakistan. For every Jamaatis or MBI Munshis, there are atleast 20 others who don't have any past or present relationship with West Pakistan (as it is mostly called in BD)

Fall of Dhaka was not all the fault of West Pakistan. The Bengalis were conspiring with the Indians as far back as 1960. Whatever happened in 71 is part of history we ought to learn from. Bangladesh will never truly be a free country, Haseena's current govt came into power through a sham election paid for by the Indians. It was created to be an Indian vassal state and will remain so.

Many great nations have lost wars and much more but it doesn't stop them from moving on and becoming even more powerful. Its high time we say goodbye to South Asia and extend ourselves into Central Asia, Iran and Turkey.

Well OK - affinity yes. In terms of treating foreigners nicely as hosts. People from WB are not treated as foreigners because of common language/culture. Bangladeshis are very generous as hosts - whether with Indians or not.

However trust for the Indian Govt. was (and still is) minuscule because of Indian Govt. actions (Border Killings, Teesta water etc.). Lot of fence mending for Indian Govt. to do which I admit it has started in earnest.

Now if Pakistan wanted to increase trade - some friendly apologetic overtures have to be made (as suggested by Imran Khan Saab). It's been 44 years. But maybe not while SHW is in power....

lol thats what u think. In south asia curiously its the indian economy which is today 1.7 trillion out of 2.63 that u claim. And pakistan is not interested in india. The future natural resources and oil lies in the west of pakistan so why not? Also pakistan's own geographical location is very good and we can will transit to countries like we give to china who has just invested 46 billion in our country. And as far as resources r concern we have our own resources by which we can sustain by ourselves for the next 100-150 years. We are basically an indigenous country.

So i dont see any reason why we should not say goodbye to south asia for long term future.
