My first day at school is etched in my memory. It was late 1968 and I was just over fours years old. My mum told me not to eat any non halal food during lunch. And when lunch came I refused everything but for some weird reason ended up with just big lump of mash which I slowly scooped whilst all other kids had all sorts on their plates. I also remember freezing during breaktime because the school uniform used shorts instead of trousers and when playing around I fell ~ ending up scraping my knees. I was the only non white kid in the school and felt really strange but teachers were nice except the disgusting headteacher who smoked a tabaco pipe and smelled like crap.

They are a lot of Arabs that migrated from the Ottoman Empire times in the 1800s and 1900s to Colombia,Venezuela,Brazil and Argentina
I believe Shakira has similiar origin?

How could you not like desi food? :what:
There's a lot of snacks for kids with funny names and they all taste good.

Mom used to make me an egg roll and I used to call it 'anna chuha'. And pancakes with smileys made of syrop ::smitten:

Halal food in the 1960s UK we did not had that much Halal options here in NY or in the States till like the 90s or 2000s I mean common old folks like @Pan-Islamic-Pakistan might remember when Hot Dog stands use to be common before Halal Carts lol, as for schools in the UK since you are late 60s and 70s kids is it true corporal punishment was still common in the UK how was it being Pakistani then

tbh you look really dark for being half-Lebanese. Most Lebanese I know are light so your dads genes must be dominant.

Yeah, we had some neighbours in Daytona who had the similar family mix but they were not practising so we never thought of them as Muslims neither they claimed..

One of the memorable days was finding my way into the campus collecting my keys to the dorm, my eagle card ... excited and stressed at the same time but my room mates were great ..

So you mean to tell me that my Urdu teacher from class 11 was into me. She was giving me all kinds of signals that I realise now but was oblivious back in the day :what:
