Shaniera Thompson to celebrate first Eid with fiance Wasim Akram in Karachi

Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram is all set to celebrate Eid with Australian fiancee Shaniera Thompson, at his Karachi home. The couple arrived in Pakistan for the festival and Thompson was quoted by the press as saying that she is looking forward to the festivities.

Akram and Thompson decided to tie the knot when the 47-year-old cricketer proposed to her last month. Thompson - who has converted to Islam - now says that she will celebrate Eidul Fitr with 'zeal and zest,' reports The Nation.

A PR consultant based in Melbourne, Thompson has already started cooking Pakistani dishes and is excited to be in her new 'home' country with Akram, whom she met in 2011.

Akram has also been quoted as saying that Thompson has no problems living in Pakistan. Previously married to Huma Khan who died of cancer, the former Pakistan speedster and Test captain is a father of two sons.
