YOUR Army Spokesperson and PM both gave out Confirmation of TWO Indian pilots in custody and also reported the Death of one of the pilots in hospital. All this without confirmation only to have egg on their face. They later on had to retract this claim.

CAG is one of the most reliable institutions in India. Almost all the scams you hear about have been exposed by CAG.
