A forensic test has proven that the meat that the Dadri lynch mob found in a Muslim man’s fridge last week was mutton not beef.

Muhammad Akhlaq was beaten to death last week over rumours that he butchered a cow and there was beef in his fridge. Akhlaq himself was beaten to death while his 22-year-old son was severely wounded.

On September 28, police had collected samples of the meat from Akhlaq’s house and sent it to a vet for preliminary testing. The test result found that the meat was mutton, according to the Times of India.

Following the preliminary testing, police sent the sample to a lab in Mathura for a conclusive test. That test also found that it was mutton, not beef, a top government official informed. Akhlaq’s family had insisted all along that there was no beef in the house.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, while visiting Akhlaq’s home last week criticised the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government for focusing on the forensic test instead of arresting the attackers.

However, a senior official in the government defended the action, saying, “Had we not sent the meat for a test, the opposition would have alleged that the UP government was hiding facts. Even though there is no mention of beef in the FIR, we had sent the meat for a test to clear the air.”

According to The Times of India, a brown calf had gone missing in the village a day before Eid. On the night of September 28, a child had seen Akhlaq walk out of his house with a plastic bag with something that looked like meat in it. Akhlaq had reportedly thrown this bag in front of an electric transformer near his house.

The boy had then informed a few people about this. Four youths, one of them the son of a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, gathered inside a temple and concluded that the meat in the bag must be that of the missing calf. They made the announcement over the loudspeaker which led to Akhlaq’s brutal death.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for religious harmony on Thursday, breaking a week-long silence after the mob killing of Akhlaq.

Whether it was mutton or beef, if a person is killed for such silly reason, it is shame on us. Every citizen as well as our home ministry has taken notice of that and our civil society has discussed this issue in exhaustively. We are not the one who celebtarate the killing of people like some others. No matter who they are.

Sir,with due respect i would like to point out the fact that this man(Engineer Rashid) doesn't have any love or respect for the Constitution of India and every time he gets an opportunity to malign our country he grab them with open hands.

It's a free country. He is free to say what he likes. We hate him for what he represents (come to MVJKL on Facebook), but nobody has the right to assault a fellow citizen. No right at all.

Now,i am not justifying the fighting that happened yesterday inside the J&K Assembly and i strongly condemn that incident but personally i feel that this man got what he deserved for being a traitor to this country. That's all!!

How can you simultaneously not justify the fighting that happened, and feel that the man got what he deserved? You cannot have both, and only an outright condemnation of this outrageous behaviour will do. If you think that he is a traitor, you are free to think so, nobody will oppose your freedom to do so. But there are legal processes to deal with traitors. That legal process, those processes, neither include assaulting a legislator within the seat of the legislature, or justifying those that committed the crime.

Are you even aware of why the premises of a legislature, the seat of a legislature, is a sanctuary?

Sorry, but this is simply not acceptable.

Droll.

Very droll.

This scenario of division among the different communities in India is fantastic and hopefully this trend would continue in the foreseeable future.

Dream on. You were right to call it fantastic; now look up the word. It's only a pack of bigots, the ideological equivalent of the people who demanded Pakistan, who support the Two Nation Theory and are responsible for our present troubles. They will be history. And don't peer too hard into the tea leaves. It might show you visions that give you nightmares.

India is a extremist fascist republic now ruled by a TERRORIST BUTCHER responsible of genocide of thousands of Muslim. Do mention me examples when mango laws of Endia have punished Extremists Hindus for killing and burning Muslims and other minorities.
On he other hand there are couple of example of hanging Innocent Muslims just to please the blood lust of Indian Hindu nation.

India is not an Islamic banana republic where the army chief delivers death sentences. The perpetrators would be dealt with according to the law. They may or may not get death sentences.

mutton not beef --- How does that matter?

.
Real shame.

And to think that this is the only country in the world where it could have happened. Poor man.
Incident like this is blackspot on humanity in any part of the world. That's why people should not take seriously any religion.
Such incident is bound to happen, already happening and happened in past too in whole world.

.
Do you think he will feel the same way if they responded by saying that they were arranging an "cartoon" drawing party....?
Drawing cartoons is forbidden. It's against law and punishable. In India is there any law of banning food? Beef? Then killing on hoax by mobs? And in reality rule was never broken?
So is burning of geeta. Indians have burnt Quran several times, any incident in Pakistan.?
So is genocide of minorities. Dozens of genocides in India? None in Pakistan.

Your country do all this S H I T.

.
What pakistan had to do in this thread? I don't defend any bad incident. But you are defending this incident. Am I wrong in this thread ? Did he eat cow and break law?
He ate mutton but murdered with brutality just due to rumors.

Blame it on the Muslim community which has a terrible reputation as a trouble making bunch. This time perhaps the man was innocent and did not kill a cow, so? The culprits will be punished, no? Usually though Muslims are known to indulging in killing of cows to insult Hindus.
